I wish I could have saved these poor bastards because I seriously doubt that they deserved this.

Alcohol is a drug. It is mood and mind altering. It has progressive negative effects on the body. I have been drinking red wine since I was a seven year old boy and I feel fine.

At some point she couldn't take it anymore and shot him while he was sleeping. Was she being held prisoner by her husband?

OMG.......are those real people on the mugshots? lol...lol...lol. The guy in the mug shot (eighth row down- middle photo- directly above O. J. Simpson) with all the scratches in his oversized forehead looks like a cross between Frankenstein and Clint Eastwood.

I'm pretty sure your not supposed to show up to ANY job under the influence. I don't see the problem with having an employee being sober. I don’t either. In fact, I suppose if I were going to be executed I would request that my executioners all be females as I believe women would be far more concerned that I did not suffer needlessly than their male counterparts would be.

The death penalty will never be abandoned in the United States. That's what you think!

Apart from the obvious fear of death. And as we get older that fear is less While I have absolutely no fear of death I do have great fear of dying.

"During the years that I have been imprisoned, I have often thought about the devastating grief and pain I caused Nicole Benton, her family, and her friends," he wrote in the clemency petition rejected by the parole board. "There is no excuse nor rationale which would be sufficient to justify this heinous act of violence perpetrated by me." If Eric Nenno was so ashamed of his own criminal actions he would have been petitioning the state of Texas to execute him as soon as possible instead of asking for clemency.

What should happen is they have this POS move in their home with their children and see how deadly these guys really are. Surely, you would not be willing to see innocent children raped and murdered just to prove your point?

I firmly believe that every decent law-abiding Mexican national, who is familiar with this case, is offended by the existence of these criminal degenerates.

I thought the President could pardon only federal inmates. From what I’ve just now been reading on the Net it seems that the president’s power to pardon extends only to those accused or convicted of federal crimes. So you are more than likely correct.

He is pretty much there already, where's the harm in p*ssing off a few more of his supporters by pardoning this subhuman pos? He'll probably get long sentences for rape and kidnapping to keep him in prison. What makes you think there is even a remote chance of this happening? (Note: this is not a rhetorical question.)

I just have a picture of Pres Bush appeasing Mexico and commuting Medellin to life. I don’t think that’s in the cards. If they did commute Medellin’s sentence to life then they would have to do it for everyone else on Death Row in Texas; being that Medellin is the worst of the worst. Also, I think Bush is smart enough to know that he would be the most hated president in U.S. history if he were to intervene on Medellin’s behalf.

are'nt there things we all stop short of making fun of Yes, but in a free society it is the individual who determines where he will stop…. not the state.

How can you possibly say that when you don't really know what she did? How can I possibly say what? All you know is the name of the crime she was convicted of. You don't know anything else, so really don't know the severity of her crimes. Maybe she conned elderly out of millions. Who knows?? That is correct, I don’t know, and for that very reason I was careful with my wording which you conveniently overlooked. See below! “Therefore I’m still puzzled by WHAT SEEMS TO BE an unusually lengthy sentence in lieu of the fact that there are so many other offenders in the same facility WHO APPEAR to have committed far worse crimes. Please note keywords: “WHAT SEEMS TO BE” and “WHO APPEAR”.

I'd imagine that the 15 years is to run concurrently with the 30 years, so she's really got 30 years (not 45). No, her scheduled release date from prison is July 31, 2049 so her 15 year sentence and her 30 year sentence are apparently not running concurrently. Therefore I’m still puzzled by what seems to be an unusually lengthy sentence in lieu of the fact that there are so many other offenders in the same facility who appear to have committed far worse crimes.

A pretty good bet is that she had lots of priors and they were tired of her act. She appears to have no priors so I am still mystified by her long sentence.

While I was checking out the Florida Department of Corrections offender network I came across the profile of an inmate by the name of Jennifer Birge (DC number K59817) who appears to be in the process of serving a 45 year sentence at Broward C.I. (A women’s facility) for two convictions of Grand Theft 1st degree.
So my question regarding this case is; how do the crimes of this particular individual, Jennifer Birge, warrant such a severe sentence?

Interestingly, if Parr had committed the same crime 6 days earlier he would have been ineligible for the death penalty.

The lie is in their testimony. The defendants would have the jurors believe that the only reason Poage was killed was to eliminate him as a witness. The full truth is (at least in my opinion) they killed Poage not only because they wanted to eliminate him as a witness but because they enjoyed the actual criminal act of torturing and killing him.

Chester Allan Poage, who was also stabbed, kicked and bashed with large rocks in a torture session that lasted two to three hours. According to testimony, the three killed Poage so there would be no witness to the robbery They lied, because if that were entirely true they would have just killed the poor boy and been done with it instead of torturing him for “two to three hours”. (and, yes, I know you did not write the article onetwobomb)
