I thought this differing view on the death penalty would be of interest.

It is of interest. It does not change my opinion, but I respect this guy. I get the impression that his main concern is innocence rather than supporting murderers. But I think innocent people have died in prison while serving sentences for crimes they did not commit. Yet no one would advocate abolishing prisons. Heck, I'd never want juice an innocent man, and I would never want to incarcerate an innocent man. I nevertheless support prisons and the death penalty. Cool video though.

Yawn. From his website he oversaw only 3 executions. His first complaint is over what he calls a "botched" execution because he saw the flames rising out of Medina's head, smelled an acrid odor. Granted, it may not have been esthetically pleasing but it was no worse than the crime scene photos of, Dorothy James, the woman Medina murdered, which he couldn't even be bothered to mention. I would also remind people that brain death is near instantaneous with electrocution, so Medina felt no pain.
I would also point out that seeing death close up does not make this guy special or give him any special insight. It happens every day to the millions of doctors and nurses.
Finally, it appears this guy has started a business giving speeches and offering him as an expert witness. This means the defense will call him to testify that their murdering client is adaptable to life in prison.

Why don't we troll his message board and repeatedly ask him to comment on the architectural changes to Florida's execution chamber since his departure?
e.g. "Ron! How do you feel about the removal of the witness chairs with the heart shaped backs?"

He's obviously unqualified to oversee executions. Seems like he's finally realized that, and has moved on. We can always find someone else to perform the People's business.
