Can I just say thanks to everyone who shared your stories, I have only noticed this thread, have read them all and was very humbled. Lynne, your poem was amazing, as a new mother, you really touched my heart....Thank you

I would like to add little Sofia Rodriguez-Urrutia-Shu to this memorial page, I was at first unsure if it was my place however, with the up coming trial of her accused killer, her deeply religious family has asked for prayers. Little Sofia was 8 years old when she was at a local shopping centre in Cannigvale South of Perth with family on June 26 2006. When she went to the toilet and did not return, her brother came looking for her, found her dead in a cubicle, gave chase to her assailant, later identified as Dante Wyndham Arthurs, when he could not catch him, returned to his little sister and held her dead body until help arrived. Sofia had been raped and murdered in all of 10 minutes. This horrific crime stunned a community, the suburb in which I grew up. All my prayers are with Sofias family during this time and the up coming trial of Dante Wyndham Arthurs. I know her name's been placed up here before, but as I have personally talked to our 2nd cousin Rubie (who sat through the entire court case along-side Sharon and Ron), who has said despite 6 years gone, the pain never goes away. In loving memory of our beloved second cousin, twice removed Laci Denise Rocha and Conner Rocha (it makes me sick to have to write the Peterson name) whom Heather and I will never, ever get a chance to get to know... Kay, thank you so much for posting Brittney's pic, my son (Danny or Dan if u ask him) has a ton of them on his PC but i have none on mine. Seeing her picture instantly made me cry again, so young and so much life to live taken away for nothing.

Brittney was beautiful, may she rest in peace My God, she was gorgeous. Do you know how old she was? I'm not familiar with her case I was just struck by how young and beautiful she was. I know that there is no good time of your life to be murdered but it seems more tragic to lose your life at a time like that. She had so many wonderful years to go. |

This is a pic of my sons friend, Brittney Kekedakis, that was murdered along with her Mom and her Mom's bf during a home invasion robbery. She was 15 yrs old, a sophmore at Como Park High School here in St. Paul. On the yearbook staff and on the softball team. A man has confessed to being a participant in the triple murder but WONT be charged because he's already been sentenced to LWOP for another murder. Our hope is that the Feds will pick this case up and charge him with capital murder and sentence him to death (at least thats my hope, I in noway speak for the family, I dont know them). He has no reason to give up the others that were involved unless of course he's looking at a death sentence. Had this robbery happened like 10 minutes later than it did she would have been gone to school. Her little brother and sister were also home at the time but were uninjured and ran to the neighbors for help after the robber/murderers left. |

The male is still in hospital with severe injuries (He has apologised to the dead woman's mother for not protecting the dead woman from their assailant). A 26 year old man is now facing rape and murder charges over the incident Her name was initially published but is now suppressed due to legal reasons
