Hello Somebody, You wrote to someone because they murdered and received a death sentence, you say you regret writing and would never do it again, correct. Yet you still continue to write and visit? You are now wanting to interject yourself into a situation that is none of your business, and never will be. If the murderer is truly sorry, as you say, he will have a chance to express that remorse at the time of his execution. And, yes, I've heard some MVS say that helped them, but that's a very personal decision, and not one that an outsider should be a part of. I think your intentions are misguided, at best. And just so you know, I too, am opposed to the death penalty. Hi Kay, I am kind of involved despite of wanting this to happen to begin with and now chosing to hang on. What is wrong with converstations about remorse once you are involved already? My intentions are, - although weird and not common -, good, but my behavior and actions might be misguided. As I said before: I am not saying that this is the best road to travel on. I am just trying to explain (and only because Lady asked me this) why I continued.

There's just one more thing I'd like to add, Somebody. I shudder to think that, perhaps, your attempting to locate the MVS in this case, to express the murderer's remorse, so they will ask to have his sentence commuted. That would be an extremely cruel thing to do. No. I said that from all the people in the world I understand that the MVS want him dead. If I would be a MVS myself I think I would want that too. Also, as I wrote, if MVS's on this board, all of them, agree that, what I'm trying to achieve is only hurtful and I should quit trying, I will quit immediately.

I think Somebody is a lot like the woman in this story (not Alice, the other woman), only the celebrity she is after is the murderer and the victim of the murder case is just simply an ends to a means. Sorry to be so blunt, but I believe this is the truth. Hybristophilia "Hybristophilia is a paraphilia involving being sexually aroused or attracted to people who have committed an outrage or a gruesome crime. In popular culture, this phenomenon is also known as "Bonnie and Clyde Syndrome". Many high-profile criminals, particularly those who have committed atrocious crimes, receive fan mail in prison, presumably as a result of this phenomenon. In some cases, admirers of these criminals have gone on to marry the object of their affections in prison."Edit: Also see "Narcissistic Personality disorder." www.narcissism101.com/Beginning/dsm_iv.htmlI agree. This happens. I can actually see it happening when I'm in prison. But if I would be one of those women I would never have accepted his "I cannot talk about what I did because I'm too ashamed" for years... I would have to know what he'd done to fullfill my needs, right?

That would be an extremely cruel thing to do. I hadn't thought of that, but I think you have brought up an excellent point. Hi Stormyweather, I am not trying this at all. I do try to find a personal answer in all this mess and, for what I understand, most MVS's hate it what I'm trying to do for the MVS's in this case. But I've received other answers as well (like: some of them want to know about remorse), so I still don't know what to do. For now I don't do anything. I said I hoped he would express himself in a letter but he hasn't done that yet. If I receive one I will keep it to myself and, if there is indeed no way I can do something positive with it, destroy it.

Elric you have been watching toooooooooooooooo many Clint Eastwood films matey. Where did that one come from, I know his charactor was Gunny Highway. What was that film called??? this is going to bug me big time until i can get this answer. The movie was Heartbreak Ridge starring Clint Eastwood as Gunnery SGT Tom Highway. However, his character did not say the line. Mario Van Peeples said the line "and don't go away mad, just go away". I inherited the movie vault from my late mother-in-law.

Sub , cheers mate, ive been thinking of that all bloody morning and none of my team remembererd the name either, all sorts came up apart from that one. heartbreak Ridge, thats right, with the swede and that rather annoying black dude the singer. man that was a funny film. That Major, the medal seeker, what a *deleted*, a good actor though, anyone who can get you rattled during a film is a good actor. What school did you go to Gunny, Heatbreak ridge sir" Heartbreak Ridge, never heard of that one. Officers, hated them whilst i served too, i had to put up with our tossers for 15 years. Stuck up privately educated bunch of thick shytes.

These are probably not my final thoughts on the matter, I have tried in vain to stay away from this thread, but it is like a train wreck.
This had done nothing but strengthen my resolve. I thought I was hardened before, but no - this has been the tempering. I have tried to lay out my arguments, logically and factually. I have tried being reasonable only to find myself cursing at the monitor and writing and re-writing each post so it conforms with the guidance of this site.
Somebody, I will not longer try to offend you, I can see you have become a polarizing presence on this site. Pro and Anti alike have swarmed to your postings to vehemently oppose everything you have written.
I cannot prove if you are a therapist or if you have visited the people you say you have. I cannot prove any of this. I can say that you have become enamored by this exposure to capital crimes and the criminals that commit them. You see yourself as some sort of savior for those on death row. So much so, your mind has twisted this to the point were you are attempting to act as some sort of emissary on their behalf to their families and the victims families.
You don't need to understand anything more that this, you need help - professional help before this cancer consumes you.
As for me, I will no longer address you or your inane topics again. I will not be an enabler for you.

Hi Vikki, Murder Victims Families for Reconciliation. I don't know very much about this group, however, I do know an anti MVS who also opposes this organization, because of the forceful tactics they employ.
