Sorry, but what do you mean by "the juvenile side of it"? DP for juveniles? - If so, then that´s not an issue that is relevant in the USA anymore. Grandma is right, to give you more information and help we would need to know where you stand in regard to the matter of capital punishment.

I'm definitely for it. I'm doing a persuasive essay on why i believe that every state should have it. I also have to know what the laws used to be for juveniles. Were they ever put to death as juveniles?

I'm definitely for it. I'm doing a persuasive essay on why i believe that every state should have it. I also have to know what the laws used to be for juveniles. Were they ever put to death as juveniles? Due to long appeals processes, I can´t remember a case in modern times in the United States when juvenile murderers were executed as juveniles. In most cases they were well into their twenties, when the execution finally came up. I know that in the 40s kids as young as 14 years were executed, but then you hadn´t the long appeals in that time. Juvenile executions do happen, however, but you would have to take a look at countries like Iran for instance. |

Harry Connick Senior (the singer's father) argued for the DP as young as 11 when he was DA of New Orleans. Unlikely to happen of course but it demonstrates how close to the mainstream the idea is in some states.
