As i was looking for websites that gave information for pro-death penalty information, i came across this one. This site has provided me with a lot of points and statistics i would like to use in a debate but the opposing team may attempt to undermine my facts by asking "When was this information gathered and is it accurate information for today?" I looked at the Death Penalty Paper link and saw that it was made in 1997. lol so i bet you can guess what im going to ask. Would information gathered today resemble the information put together then? Also, how would I cite this in a MLA Works Cited page? lol tnx a bunch for a good site

States with laws and current rates can be found elsewhere if you're looking for updates statistical info.

You need to stake a moral position and move people emotionally, if you want to persuade. The murder rate is about 5 per 100,000 population in this country, according to the United States Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Statistics. www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/This is about one murder for every 20,000 people. The murder rate, within the grand scheme of things, is actually quite low, as low as it was back in the 1960s. Our current method of discouraging murder therefore works for 19,999 out of 20,000 people. The question boils down to what to do with that one pr#ck that isn't dissuaded from murder as are the rest of us. Pretend you're in charge and make that decision. Now justify it. Good luck!
