What do people think of women who fall in love with men on death row? I am writing a research paper on the topic and would love some opinions.

I think som eof them are perfectly normal people and some of them do it because they cannot get a man with a future outside and are attracted to them for God knows what reason.

For a research paper it would seem that what people think of them is less important than what they think and feel. But just for the record, I think they are irrational and have succumbed to the evil ones.

Saw one of these crime shows where the guy killed Lord knows how many women. For a while he was in prison. The prison librarian (didn't know they had such a position), who was rather attractive, left her husband for him. As expected, he murders her. But one of the things that got me is that not only did she dump her poor husband for this jerk, after he killed her, he continued to receive and cash her alimony checks. Talk about adding insult to injury!

I have spoken to 9 women who claim to be in love with DR men. My personal opinion is that rather than being in love with the men per say, they are in love with their own image and perception of themselves as a martyr.
Clearly, there is no sexual element to their 'love', nor is their much of a bent towards realism, given that the relationship is based almost entirely on letters and short telephone conversations. These women, in my experience, are usually unfulfilled in many aspects of their lives. either, they have never had the type of boyfriend that they wanted, never had a job that keeps them stimulated or were previously involved in a relationship that lacked true love.
they rely on these men as a way of existing beyond their daily routine. They see it as giving their lives greater meaning. this is why these women are often serial DR lovers, moving on to yet another convict once their origional is given the punishment he deserves. This also explain why these women tend to group together, on such places as the CCADP, where a definate spirit of competition exists amongst them as to whose 'lover' will go next, who gets the most letters, who has had the most publicity. Often, their own lives are so bad/dull, that a survival mechanism that greatly helps them is to be in regular touch with someone whose life is worse. It is a constant reassurance that their own situation is not so bad.
For many others, it gives them a chance to become 'experts' in a field. If you visit the CCADP, they often bicker and attempt to point score over who knows most about prison conditions. it even happens on this site at times. two regual members write to DR prisoners and they argue betwen themselves and question each others motives.
These women are in many ways THE most ardent supporters of the DP, although they will not consciously admit it. For them, the DP is necessary for them to have their life, their attention and to fill their daily routines. they find interaction with the normal person difficult. they are what i call, 'pro antis' in that were the DP revoked, they would lose more than anyone else.
so in short, for these women, it is not so much love of a person, as love of a persona that they want to create.

What do people think of women who fall in love with men on death row? I am writing a research paper on the topic and would love some opinions. I used to think they were weak morons. Now I just think they are weak and the inmate conned them. I have talked to a couple before and they weren't really THAT moronic. And I'm not being a smartass. Thats what I thought

Desperate, moronic women I believe that they have low or no self esteem. and that is an understatement.
Well, I guess they are safe thier men are in prison...they really are proud of the fact that they are in,love with these men who are vicious killers with no empathy?
Come on I hear that Scott Peterson is engaged....That woman is no better than he is.

They can play at being martyrs without having to really lose anything, after all, it's not THEIR own life on the line ever, it's their man's.

Thats what I thought I wouldn't credit DR inmates with the successful beguilement of the murderer-fellators who write them. There's nothing a murderer can do or say to distract these ladies from cleaving to them over the victims of their murders.

The ladies ( i use that term lightly) show up to visitaion dressed in the latest *deleted* wear and painted up like rodeo bullfighters. There dresses so low cut you can see the holy land and tops so tight you cant help but noticethe blemishes that adorne the breasts. It looks like hooker day at the unit whe they prance in on the cat walk. Flirting with anything that has a *deleted*. After their sceduled two hour visit the two are pryed apart and they once again express their undying love for eavh other.....after a few hours another call to the Pod to release "Jack MeOff" once again for another visit. And guess what, shes a little fatter, a little trampier but the game is the same when they break it up to head home "I love you baby your my one and only" I love you to darling and please disreard that putrid smell of tuna...I worked all night on the shrimp boat and did have time to shower.

How did the guy manage that? Chazz There are several ways to to that. The most obvious is the he just forged her signature. As long as nobody complainned about anything there would be no reason for anybody to look closely at the signatures. If they had a joint account and he deposited the check to the joint account, nobody would pay much attention to the signature. There are more complex methods that would have almost no chance of ever being detected.

i personally believe that it is very easy to fall in love with a murderer or somone dangerous. It makes things a lot more exciting. Women like me just hope our men dont get cought with whatever their doing, because then we're in trouble when they get out, and find out we didn't wait around

I would find it and him a disgusting animal that has no morals and surely has no empathy for people. they are animals who do not love themselves and therefore do not love the women who love them.
