Hi i'm 18 and from Germany. I'm doing a lot of research about the death penalty for an outwork at the moment but I'm struggling to find information in the internet. This concerns especially the early history of the death penalty. All I could find about that were about 2 to 3 sentences. It would be great if anyone had a link to this information.
The other thing I search for is a search engine for scholastic papers (not only about death penalty).
I already thank everyone who can help me on this.

I know the state of Arizona posts some details of ALL the inmates they have executed from the early 1900's. www.azcorrections.govThere are many other states that do the same. I believe MO is another good one. Some even have info on executions from the 1800's. A google search on "executed inmates" usually turns up all of the state sites among the many anti DP sites. |

I found that Death Penalty Info Center had a pretty comphrensive history of the deathpenalty, dating back to before colonial times. Also look up the Encarta Encylopedia.

Left and right has nothing to do with it. It goes without saying that murderous dictators are always big fans of the death penalty.
Btw, being against the death penalty doesn't make me a "lefty".

Left and right has nothing to do with it. It goes without saying that murderous dictators are always big fans of the death penalty. Btw, being against the death penalty doesn't make me a "lefty". no at home, aunty can be very traditional, she insists on making the dinner and washing the pots. that is why I love her |

It is like, "yea that's great, but what right did they have to gang rape a 16 and 14 year old girl and then blame it on a gang iniatiation (random case example)" it just seems like people are more worried about turning the offender into the victim and ripping up the victim, even if they are dead!

Everytime someone says that we have no right to execute a murderer or child rapist I just want to smack the crap out of them. It is like, "yea that's great, but what right did they have to gang rape a 16 and 14 year old girl and then blame it on a gang iniatiation (random case example)" it just seems like people are more worried about turning the offender into the victim and ripping up the victim, even if they are dead! your right, it is horrible that people murder. did you know 3% of the people who die are innocent? did you know it costs millions of dollars each year? with that money you can save thousands of lives in africa. and if you would slap me because i am against deathpenalty. id make sure your one of the victims. |

BTW, W is a hero in africa, just ask bob geldolf. and bush supports the DP. it always amazes me the vitriol of some people. what's this threat of slapping someone you disagree with and them becoming a victim about? sounds like you have some issues to deal with. |
