Could someone suggest a good case to do a paper on? I have to chose something to write a research paper on in my social science class and I want to do it on an inmate but can't chose. I am not expecting you all to pick for me, just help me narrow the field.

Mishka, Take a look through the Texas Dept. of Corrections. Here's their link. They have over 400 inmates on death row and they give basic details of the crime for each inmate. You might find one of interest to you there. www.tdcj.state.tx.us/stat/offendersondrow.htm

What kind of case are you looking for? What is the result you hope for; who is your audience; what is the goal of the paper? There are thousands of cases, all different. Is it pro-death penalty or anti-death penalty? Do you want a case that illustrates the need for the death penalty or one that shows weaknesses in the system? It's not possible to narrow the field without knowing what field we are playing on. Charlene Could someone suggest a good case to do a paper on? Can anyone find a case where an innocent person was killed on death row, then later found innocent? I need a case like that, but cannot seem to find one.

If your professor could fill us in with the details, we'd be grateful. But I presume it will probably be the same possibly, probably, maybe innocently executed, which we have heard before. I don't know, I've heard otherwise from my professor. What do you think? Who should know more about the DP? Your professor? Or some rabid hardcore PROs? Well so far, no antis have come up with PROOF of a case of innocent executed in the USA! So I doubt if professor will be more succesful than the activist antis who do nothing else but look for it!
