The family of Angela Frescaz is asking for your help to protest the parole of her murderer. Please send letters.
Angela Frescaz and her unborn 5-½ month baby girl, Megan, were murdered on March 6, 1992 in Midland, Texas. She left a son, Bradley, for Angela's mother to raise whom she loves with all her heart and soul, Bradley is now 15.
Angela's murderer was her estranged husband, Gilbert Rivera Jr. Rivera. He shot her 3 times at close range with a 13-gauge shotgun while Angela was sitting in her car in the parking lot of a grocery store. Angela fought for her life for 10 days after the shooting before she died in the intensive care unit.
In September 1992, the jury deliberated about an hour and 20 minutes before convicting Rivera Jr. of murder. He was given a life sentence. The District Attorney described Rivera as “a wanton cold-blooded deliberate murder by a man who only thinks of his petty desires.” Because of the laws that were in place in 1992, a life sentence meant he would become eligible for a parole review in 15 years.
No family should ever have to endure the pain and suffering that Angela's family has had to endure since that fatal day. They are asking for your help to facilitate public safety by keeping Rivera Jr. off the streets for as long as possible, as well as helping them be a voice for Angela who was silenced forever due to Rivera’s actions
Rivera Jr. was a habitual criminal. He was a suspect in arson fires, but was not caught, was a peeping tom, but again not caught, he stole from all the places he worked at.
Angela was a victim of domestic violence and was harassed and stalked till he murdered her. This time he did get caught… at the expense of Angela and her unborn child.

Re: PAROLE PROTEST
IINMATE: Gilbert Rivera Jr., TDCJ-ID# 00657089
Dear Board Members:
Please DO NOT grant parole for Gilbert Rivera Jr. TDCJ-ID# 00657089. Rivera Jr. violently murdered Angela Frescaz on March 6, 1992 in Midland, Texas. Angela was only 20 and was 5 ½ months pregnant with a baby girl whom she was naming, Megan. Angela also had a son, Bradley who will never have the opportunity to know his mothers, love, touch or hear her voice ever again.
To lessen the emotional trauma for the victims' family and because of the ultimate violent nature of Rivera Jr.’s crime, I am asking the Board to please consider giving Rivera Jr. a 5 year set off before any future parole reviews. Not only should Rivera be held accountable for the murder of Angela and her unborn baby girl, he should also be held accountable to the family of Angela and society. Since 1992, Angela’s mother and family have been forced to live with the agony, pain and horror of how Angela was brutally taken from them at the hands of another human being.
Please confirm that this letter is added to the above mention file. Thank you for your consideration.
Respectfully,
