say someone cannot afford a great lawyer. the one that has been appointed to him falls asleep during trial, and the defendant loses is found guilty.
i've heard that if this happens, it is not a good enough reason to gain a retrial...is this true, and if so why the hell not!

You need to listen more carefully. The case where the lawyer fell asleep during trial resulted in an opportunity for retrial. However, since the murderer knew he was guilty, he opted for a plea bargin to a lesser punishment. What happens to a murder victim when her lawyer falls asleep during the trial the murderer gives her?

i've heard that if this happens, it is not a good enough reason to gain a retrial. It is good enough to gain a retrial. Did you hear wrong or did some anti-DP activist lie to you?
