I was wondering about child porn laws and the internet...If I was e-mailed some rude pictures and I looked at them showed them to a few people then deleted it, is that a crime in Canada/North America? I don't see how it could be. I was told by somebody that only possesing, on disk that sh*t is illegal. Does anybody know? is not reporting it a crime? thanx.

I should think it is according to what the pictures were, for example if it showed a 12 year old in a sexual act then it should be illegal, I do not know if it is or not but I would hope so. On the other hand if it was just a picture of a woman over 18 years of age who was undressed I can not see how that would be considered illegal.

DEE do you mean that happening upon a website with pictures of child porn the veiwer should be charged? I don't see the logic...surley that has happened to you. if you surf much. If you surf any porn or dating sites at all, it is gauranteed.

I don't do porn; sex is not a spectator sport. However - if that's what it takes for you - go for it. But there are limits of human decency, beyond which actions are often adjudged as criminal ...
What kind of sick S.O.B. gets off on picture of little children?
TV and news editorialists constantly speak of the need for citizens to get involved.
Yet twice, now, I've received unsollicited EMail advertising links to child porn sites - and there's apparently no one out there in "officialdom" who gives a damn.
One of our local TV personalities lost his job, got fined, had his career ruined and (I think) got jail time because he bought porn photos from a lady cop during a sting operation.
