OK meet Rashad Caroujan Owens. 1. An inspiring music producer 2. A car thief 3. A fugitive in Alaska for fleeing the scene after DWI crash 4. Gets drunk and slams into a crowed in Austin TX, while evading police in stolen car. The car belongs to a slodier stationed at Ft Hood. Rashad has no affiliation with the military. 5. Charged with 5 counts of capital murder with the DA seeking the punishment of DEATH! This will be interesting. If it were in another state he would probably not get the DP. In Texas if he were a spoiled rich white kid suffering from afluenza he would not get it. But he will get it, I am counting on it! www.heavy.com/news/2014/03/sxsw-crash-suspect-rashad-charjuan-owens/I predict a 2024 execution.

There is an interesting thing on names in this book called "Freakonomics." It looks at names that are more likely to drive success statistically than those that don't. The argument is that the name it self isn't the reason but the underlying types of families that will name their kids this way. Poor families are more likely to name their kids with what would sound like a more traditional Africanized name. They will more likely to name their kid Deshaun instead of Shaun. More affluent black families will more likely name their kids traditional white names in order to insure their kids have a more successful chance at a professional job.
Statistically you are less likely to work in a professional job and hear,
"Meet Rashad, he works in the accounting department." Instead your more likely to hear. "meet Rashad he works in receiving and drives the delivery truck." Most likely;y if Rashad were to get a professional name he would change it to Ray, because that has a more pleasing ring to it. The Asians figured this out a long time ago. You will meet the Japanese accountant Ray, but his name is really Ryishou, but for business purposes he goes by Ray.
Unfortunately this guy now has 6 illegitimate kids that will be on the welfare dime. It's safe to assume that at some point a couple of those kids will probably see the inside of a jail cell maybe even be on death row with daddy prior to his execution, assuming he gets the death penalty.

I wonder what the likely hood of the death penalty sticking? Texas unfortunately did a disservice when they let the affluent White kid who committed a similar crime. Similarities in both cases are agravated DWI resulting in the deaths of the victims. Both involved stolen vehicles. The Afluenza kid was ineligible for the DP due to age. Although he should have received LWOP. This guy will get it, because the argument will be that the deaths were the result of several felonies. One being that he was in a stolen car and was committing felony evasion while driving drunk. In Texas a criteria for a capital murder is deaths as the result of another felony crime that is being committed. Also I believe they have clause also if the deaths were the result of the crime due multiple deaths due a complete disregard to the safety of the public, ergo fleeing from the cops down one way streets while drunk in a heavily pedestrian area such all the downtown streets of Austin during South by Southwest.
I see many years of appeals on this one. At least he will be caged up unable to make more babies.

"Unfortunately this guy now has 6 illegitimate kids that will be on the welfare dime." Are you trying to say they weren't already being raised on our dime? I beg to differ on that one.

Most likely they already are I'm sure. I bet he is deadbeat dad, I doubt this loser can be child suppor. They probably will all be members of the prison system as well, with maybe the exception of one of them being on the straight path.
