Sure as pigs gobble slop, the Old Hippies who squat on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals have resorted to their predictable obstructionist tactics by entering a stay of execution on 4 time killer Kevin Cooper. Inmate Cooper had been scheduled for lethal injection at 12:01 AM Pacific Time tomorrow. My question is this: will the State now go to the United States Supreme Court seeking to have the stay dissolved ? Has anyone heard anything definite either way ? Might we see a repeat of the same kind of nonsense as took place in 1992 in the Harris matter ? btw, I love these Smileys, they're very cool

God, I love these Smileys ! In any event, turning to the matter at hand, the Sacramento Bee is reporting this afternoon that, firstly, the grungy Old Hippies who squat on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals may decide inmate Cooper's appeal in sufficient time for his execution to take place as scheduled, and secondly, that a spokeman for the state has said their side is weighing certain options, including going to the U.S. Supreme Court, presumably in an effort to have the stay of execution lifted. The next few hours should tell the tale Inmate Cooper is guilty, and his lying supporters know this

Very unfortunate, Geistiger Tiefflieger, once again the 9th circuit interferes with your personal prostate cancer prevention programme.

;D Great day in the morning but humanity owes a debt of gratitude to whomever invented these wonderful Smiley things As to the Kevin Cooper matter. California Attorney General Bill Lockyer has been quoted by the Associated Press as saying that his office is appealing to the United States Supreme Court to lift the stay of execution entered earlier today by the unwashed Old Hippies who squat on the 9th Circuit Court What's more, the AP is stating this evening that a ruling may come yet today, Monday, from the same federal circuit court So, it would appear some possibility still exists that inmate Cooper's lies, and the lies of his supporters, will not bear the desired fruit, and that the sentence will be carried out as scheduled. Who knows ? I don't. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart once said he'd burn all the operas he ever composed if only he could claim to have written the music of the Preface. I understand that now. I'd happily give up whatever I've acheived in life if only I could claim to be the creator of these superb Smiley Faces ;D Indeed, who wouldn't ?

Do ye fancy inmate Cooper is frequently mistaken for Cary Grant ? Errol Flynn ? Tom Selleck ? Or Rudolph Valentino, perchance ? What a beauty ! ;D Ladies, prepare to have your little hearts go Pit-A-Pat and to grow all weak kneed and giggly as you behold this image of masculine pulchritude. Had inmate Cooper lived in ancient Greece, surely the Athenians would have believed he was some youthful god come down from the cloudy heights of Olympus www.sacbee.com/state_wire/story/8232375p-9166224c.html

If anyone is following the ongoing legal farce surrounding bloodthirsty four-time slayer Cooper and his paid liars, the dope smoking Old Hippies appointed by democrats to frustrate justice in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals have issued a stay of execution. Not to be deterred, however, California's A.G. has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to vacate the stay, and to thereby give the criminal loving leftists on the 9th Circuit the same crack across their arrogant snouts ;D as they got in 1992 at the conclusion of the Robert Alton Harris fiasco. The death warrant, we are informed by Reuters, remains in force throughout Tuesday. So, those of ye who love "JOOSTEESE" (as Sacco & Vanzetti pronounced it) ;D and who hate iniquity and who see the raw truth of this and believe in the rights of the victims, don't abandon all hope that the has-been actors, the deceitful shysters and the arrogant activists may yet be defeated in their nefarious schemes Inmate Cooper is guilty as charged, and his supporters know this. Even a three judge panel of the 9th Circuit, witless though they are, offered the opinion yesterday that slayer Cooper's mouthpieces are simply attempting to "buy time" for their unrepentant thug. No more delays ...... Let 'er Rip !

Seems all your blather was nothing but a waste of time. ;D
The USSC disagreed 9-2 with your silly view.

Correction: The USSC did of course not vote 9-2 (that was the federal appeals court)...but they denied CA's motion to lift the stay

There seems little doubt that the 9th Circut waits until the last minute and then issues a stay to ensure that: a) there is as little time as possible to overturn it; b) a possible future execution date is delayed by many months.
I doubt that they could care less what the "evidence" is in the case. They are liberal crusaders and all that matters is their own ideology.
(By the by if John Kerry is elected president you can be sure that more of them will be sitting on federal benches throughout the country)

It appears from the British Television news and media that ther is plenty of grounds for the judges to grant a stay including evidence refused at the trial. It appears that contributors here feel the law is only good if they agree with it, thats not the way it works. The death penalty is obscene enough wihout killing someone where a legal question exists. The use of smileys on this site is disgusting. You want a human being put to death and you think its fun.

We should probably add that the USSC denied the motion of the State of California to vacate the stay 9-0 (= unanimously). That probably means there ARE in fact unresolved issues to consider in this case.

Drugs? No, I don't even drink alcohol.
I was referring to the fact that executions "save lives". It seems that a certain subpopulation of pros - those who are especially "enthusiastic" about executions - might enjoy a special protection against prostate cancer, as a result of...well, read for yourself:

Too late to do the research Chris. I'll just opine that those with nothing better to do than bedwet over the likes of a multiple murderer like Kevin Cooper are more likely to be "anal retentive". Could explain the increased incidence of prostate cancer. Trex Journal of Proctology Int. 2004 Feb 04 (1): 1-1.
