I am glad that John Allen Muhammad will face execution for his role in the DC Area Sniper Case. This act of violence and terror is the most cruel and vile act to impose on innocent people I have ever known to have happened.
Mr Muhammad has chosen his fate and he will meet his fate the day he is executed. I wish all the best for the victims families for their healing and recovery. This is just another closure to the painful chapters of Mr Muhammad's actions.
Closure, I think is just a soft spoken word. Whatever happens to Muhammad and Malvo will never ease the pain and suffering these families went through because of these two cold-blooded killers. At least Justice will be served the day these two evil parasites are executed.
Congratulations to the Virginia State Police, Maryland State Police, FBI, ATF. Montgomery County Sherriff's Office, Virginia's Commonwealth Attorneys for the successful prosecution of John Allen Muhammad and Good Luck on the successful prosecution of Lee Boyd Malvo

There was never much question about the guilt or innocence of Muhammad or Malvo. They were caught in the murder vehicle, with the murder weapon, in possession of a stolen computer with files highlighting each killing. DNA evidence, voice records of calls to police, and Malvo's voluntary confession made the trial profunctory. The real issue is the DP and the Washington Post has lead the crusade against the DP.
The Post's arguements go something like this:
1. Muhammad is the victim of prosecutorial overcharging. Since he was not accused of being the triggerman, he shouldn't be held accountable for multiple capital murders (a DP qualifying event).
2. Muhammad is also the victim of an anti-terrorism law gone amok following the "panic" of 9-11 and charging domestic crimes with penalities designed for dealing with the war on terrorism.
3. Malvo may be guilty of the shootings, but he was an impressionable minor under the spell of an older man and unable to express the free judgement necessary to qualify for the DP. (If the trial jury buys this defense during sentencing, it won't be necessary to use it on appeal). Most of Virginia doesn't put a whole lot of stock in the opinions of the Post, but these issues will likely form the basis of the sniper's appeals, with the Washington Post in the cheering section.

execution by injection is too good for him. what would be fair is if they sent him running on a football field with his hands tied and everyone in the stands getting to take pop shots at him till hes dead

James, You are exactly right. Why should he be treated any better than his victims were? Hopefully this can be carried out quickly and without the 10+years of appeals.
