As you all may know. Last October of 2002 our nations capital and surrounding suburbs was victimized and terrorized by a series of sniper shootings which has claimed 13 or more lives and injured a 13 year old and other innocent bystanders. These random acts of violence has not only effected Virginia and Maryland. It has also effected Alabama, Georgia, Washington State.
By the the hardwork, tireless, and steadfast work of the Virginia State Police, Maryland State Police, Montgomery County Sherriff's Office, and various federal agencies including the FBI. ATF, Secret Service have indentified and arrested two suspects John Allen Muhammand and Lee Boyd Malvo for premediated 1st degree murder, weapons charges, terrorism charges.
Virginia was giving first priority of the sniper case because of it's strong death penalty laws and it's new anti-terrorism law.
I would like to begin by saying that this is the most henious crime I have ever witnessed on TV besides the 9-11 attacks. These sniper attacks and random acts of cold-blooded murder is pure and simple terrorism because the snipers creatied havac and fear on the general public and the snipers attempted to extort 10 million dollars from law enforecment agencies. so technically it would seem legally possible for these two sniper suspects to be convicted of terrorism and 1st degree murder on the state charges and be convicted of federal charges for acts of terrorism and murder that effects interstate commerce because the crimes ocurred in 3 different jurisdictions.
Ladies and Gentlement of this forum. If this is not terrorism to you then what is terrorism to you? I must be the only one speaking here if this is not terrorism. Does terrorism have to consist of blowing up innocent people or is random acts of murders enough?
John Allen Muhammad's Trial has already started and Lee Boyd Malvo's trial is to begin in November. However It is my opinion that if John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo are convicted of first degree murder during the commision of the use of a firearm, Terrorism. These two men must suffer the death penalty. Life in Prison should not even be an option in this case.
