According to my brief read of stats, the most likely victims of murders are males in their 20's, but yet oddly you rarely see specific calls for the death penalty relating to a simple murder of a man in his 20's. When a man in his 20's dies it is not seen with the outrage it should, but just an example of boys being boys. It is far more news worthy if a child was murdered in an armed robbery then if an adult male was. I a, mpt trying to understate the tragedy of child murder, but to point out the murders committed against the highest risk group, are the least likely get the maximum punishments available

Some cops call these type of murders "NHI" (no humans involved) or "public service" murders. Living in California as I do and seeing the carnage and damage these young men do to communities everyday tends to make me not all that upset when they whack one another.

Look at California and you'll find four Bloods and one Crip on death row and one Crip executed. All killed multiple non gang members and five of the six killed juveniles. Several associates of the Mexican Mafia and one full member were also sentenced to death for ordering and committing a contract murder of a gang dropout but the drop out's sister, her boyfriend and two children were also murdered. The associate who killed the children was himself killed on death row, apparently because other MM members felt killing children was wrong. The only member of the California Aryan Brotherhood I can think of that made it to death row was Curtis Price who was executed for the shooting of a non gang member after his parole. The man was murdered because his son was an inmate who had dropped out the gang and the AB leaders felt he was under too heavy security to be murdered.

I hate to put Joe Phillips' blood pressure into stroke territory, but some murders concern me a lot, and some not at all. Gangbangers murder each other? Ho-hum. Workaday. What's for dinner?

I view it as a 2fer. One gangbanger gets shot to death, and the gangbanger who shot him gets executed (ideally). Hence, two less scum to deal with.

The other night I watched a program on MS 13, a brutal gang that often targets Latino teens. In the progam, a guy explained how he killed for the first time at the age of 13 (he received LWOP because of his age). What shocked me is this gang is active in 27 states gangs.umd.edu/wfrmGangsinmdDetail.aspx?id=Mara%20Salvatrucha,%20or%20MS-13
