And your point is?
Going on the principle that the law system in most of these countries is dubious to say the least I wonder how many of these people were not guilty. Like the 13 year old girl from Somalia who was stoned to death in 2008

My point is simply that although the USA is not first in executions, we are in the running. China wins every year, but right now we are ahead of them. That said, we are behind Iran by quite a bit. I know that the US will never rank number 1 in executions, but I'd at least like to see us in the top 3. We are having a good February thus far, so we'll just have to give it our all and see what happens.

TimS, in the middle east they were probably guilty of goat rustling, stealing a loaf of bread or shagging around . totally agree with you, these countries are dubious and im surprised that Erick want to place America along side scumbag countries like these.

Scumbag countries as in their governments, not their peoples or cultures. I dare not wish to be considered politically incorrect.

As is the case with any sport, every team is desperate to win. I'm not advocating winning at all costs (i.e. cheating), but every athlete should have a strong desire to beat his opponent. Indeed, although I'm not an executioner myself, when you have on average $100 riding on every execution through gambling at the bar, you develop a strong vested interest in each kill.
