A double header is only a double header if it only occurs in the same state. I like to call that a "jubilee". ;D

Oh come on!! Are you telling me that lawyers are not corrupt greedy people? I have great respect for them but lets not get it twisted. Actually Lawyers who take on Capital Defence appeal generally could earn a great deal of money if they diverted their attention elsewhere.

As for the oncoming year of 2009, I wish a painful death followed by a one way ticket to hell to as many as possible death row inmates. Why does it have to be a painful death for you?, isnt the execution enough. I dont doubt their guilt, but cannot understand the requirement for torture prior to death. Please explain it to me, do you get anything personally out of this, or is it just out of principal that pain must be part of an execution? If I may interject, I think there is a vast difference between stabbing a person 30 times with a knife and a needle in the arm that makes them go to sleep where they feel no pain. Did the victims have it so easy? I think the murderer should be executed in the exact same manner as the victim. Thus, the murderer would know what it feels like to be savagely beaten while begging for mercy.

So between January 14th through the 29th, 8 convicted murderers are set for termination. Those could be some crazy weeks if all goes as planned. 6 of those deaths will be in Texas, one is set in Alabama, and one is scheduled in Oklahoma. Here is how it could play-out: 14 TX Curtis Moore 15 AL James Callahan 15 TX Jose Garcia Briseno 21 TX Frank Moore 22 OK Darwin Brown 22 TX Reginald Perkins 28 TX Virgil Martinez 29 TX Ricardo Ortiz Of the above names, who will survive and what will be left of them? I think it's important to point out the racial make-up of those preparing to die in January as well as their victims. 14* Curtis Moore Texas Black Killer, 3 Black Male Victims
15* James Callahan Alabama White Killer, White Female Victim
21* Frank Moore Texas Black Killer, 2 Black Victims
22* Reginald Perkins Texas Black Killer, 1 Black Female Victim (DNA and circumstance links him to 5 others, most or all were Black women)
22* Darwin Brown Oklahoma Black Killer, White Male Victim
27* Larry Swearingen Texas White Killer, White Female Victims
28* Virgil Martinez Texas Hispanic Killer, 4 Hispanic Victims (2 adults and 2 children)
29* Ricardo Ortiz Texas Hispanic Killer, Hispanic VictimMost importantly, it shows that death penalty states (namely Texas) do put an equal value on the lives of minority victims as White victims. I'm getting a little sick of the tired argument that the death penalty is some racist leftover of slavery.

If a black murders a black or a Hispanic murders a Hispanic, can you cry out racism? What if a black murders a Hispanic or vise versa? Who has more "value?" Perhaps we should introduce affirmative action into the DP to "even things out!" More importantly, those 8 inmates murdered at least 14 people, an average of nearly 2 victims per killer!
