If you speak as well as you write, I'm sure you'll come across as a very wise and informed proponent of the death penalty.
Good luck with that thar.

hey i have a speech do for class ive ben doing alot of reashearch and i basiaclly have to speak about how the death penaltty prevents future murder's any statistics facts arguenments anythign wll be appreicated thanks Harry: According to roughly a dozen recent studies, executions save lives. For each inmate put to death, the studies say, 3 to 18 murders are prevented. The effect is most pronounced, according to some studies, in Texas and other states that execute condemned inmates relatively often and relatively quickly.www.nytimes.com/2007/11/18/us/18deter.html?_r=1&oref=sloginGo to the above link and you will find more material. The 3 to 18 murders prevented for each execution does not include the fact that an executed murderer will not: Murder a correction officer or prison staff while in prison. Order people on the outside to commit murders on their orders. Murder during or after an escape. Murder fellow prisoners. Good luck with your speech.

Good luck too, hope it goes well. info at www.amnesty.org.uk. this gives you lists of countries who abolished the DP for murdre and serious Crimes and go to www.crimeprevention.org.uk and this will give you information on crimes before capital punishment was abolished and after and you can compare the two. However with this be careful as with all research because of changes in population etc, these changes are not often taken into consideration thereby given you false statistic. hope it goes well.
