All my life I have been able to draw....I enjoy it and its something I do well and something I got from my father. The last time I saw my father was in 1983 when we satyed with him for a few weeks. I remember being in his room and seeing one of those old stand up paper picture frams that hold 3 pics and there was a drawing in each one. I remember asking my father what it was......(he told me) the first one was a heart with another heart in side of it...this pic was my mother....the next pic had a heart with wings....this pic was me.....the other was a heart with a cross in the center of it....this one was my sister. He had drawn each one he said so that he would always have us with him. OMG {{{{{Shawni}}}}} what a wonderful memory to have in your heart from your dad!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

I will Lynne and thank you for sharing your son. He is a beautiful man. Your expressions of everlasting love are the most beautiful tribute I have ever seen. They are far too emotional to even read in one sitting.

Hello everyone, I thank you all so very much for sharing all these lovely pictures, poems and stories. It's wonderful to see, that murder victims aren't forgotten. I hope this thread will continue, I will post a number of other victims myself. Let's make this thread a real memorial hall, a clear statement against cold-blooded and senseless murderers. A very special thank you goes out to the MVSes who shared their memories with us. You are amazing! Yours, euro.

Here's my tribute to my Dad (Carl) and Grandma (Valda):
DAD
Dad’s values and lessons:
Honesty
Work as hard as you can
Keep your word at all times and if you can’t make sure to let the person you were making the promise to know
Accomplish as much as you can without hurting anyone on the way
Treat everyone the same
Remember the struggles of the less fortunate, both financially and physically
Remember your manners at all times, even the hard times
Enjoy nature, and use the simple things to relax you.
My memories of him:
Long, long talks in the back yard, about most everything
Long discussions about what was in today’s newspaper
Riding the train at the zoo (always the 1st stop), always remembering to scream when going through the dark tunnel
Going for long rides in the cool beauty of the evenings, always an “ice cream stop” on the way, gliding on the road with sweetness in your mouth at the same time
The smell of pancakes and bacon on Sunday mornings, listening to the top 40 on the radio while everything was cooking, the taste of bacon with pancake syrup
The smell of pinto beans, ham and cornbread cooking on a Saturday afternoon, while I was safe in my room, lost in the world of my books and records
Driving all over town on a cold, clear winter night to find the right Douglas Fir Christmas tree
Watching movies together in my first apartment after eating hamburger steaks with fried potatoes
Coming to help me with flat tires in the middle of rush hour traffic
Eating handfuls of the Christmas cookies I spent hours baking
His despair at not being able to understand Mom
GRANDMA
Memories:
Getting to stay overnight at her place, the next day always getting to see a movie and go out to lunch at Burger King
Trips at Christmas to the graves of her husband (my grandfather) and son (my uncle), with bright, foil-wrapped poinsettas to leave after saying a prayer for them and the rest of the family still alive
Dinners at Luby’s cafeteria, where she’d put bites of what she was having on my plate, and smile while doing it
Going to the Nutcracker ballet every Christmas: the feel of her small arm in mine as we navigated the steps; the smell of our fancy makeup and new special dresses; how she’d start telling me stories from her life long ago while we waited for the ballet to begin; how she’d jab my side with her arm when the mice and the Rat King came onstage; the time we got lost on the way home and ended up laughing about it for years afterward
Going to see the Everly Brothers, where she said some of their songs were “too fast and too loud”

Euro, Shawni, Lynne, Claire, Angelica, Jamie, Heidi, Katie, Carolyn and Kay - Thank you so much for sharing these pictures and memories - they are part of what makes all of us who we are, and part of why we stand for what we do. I am slow with the scanning, but I hope these are done well enough that you can see her. These are ones that are not on her web page. Bethena Lyn Brosz 10/10/1981 - 5/3/2001 10th grade picture This is on her 18th birthday at her birthday lunch at Olive Garden, the day after her first nephew was born. We went to the hospital to visit her sister and nephew, and then we went out for her birthday lunch. happy baby laughing at her big sister Dressed up for Halloween as a flapper, her junior year in high school. Loves animals, stuffed or real either way. 3 years old, sleeping with Big Ted. She slept with him until she was 17. I still have Big Ted. Sometimes when my husband is gone working, I sleep with him now. One of many pix with family pets. She loved them all Hi mom, I'm playing in the snow in VA running home for dinner! I miss you, baby girl. I will always love you so.

Thank you so much Heidi and Angelica. Yes the good memories are a blessing I don't know if I could go on without. I would not give up one second. It is too late to modify and add this one, so I am doing it here. This is Bethena and her big sister (Kay, this is the big sister you met when you were visiting). This is so cute but she scared me to death this day. The photographer got that huge smile out of her with a big stuffed animal. What I could never believe is that my hands were not in this picture. She leaped out of that chair towards the stuffed animal, and I caught her in midair. Heart stopping, but we got that love and joy in her eyes recorded for all time. I love you so much Bethena.

Shawni, I´m sorry while at the same time I understand you don´t want to post your fathers picture. It´s sad you have to be scared that it might be used in a bad way, but recent events show there´s a reason for it. I hope you don´t mind my suggestion: would you perhaps share a memory with us? A situation you remember, or something about the "every- day- life" you had? Eu.ro, I think this thread is a wonderful idea. Yes, becuase of things that have been done in the past I do not trust posting his pic, but it is not those on this board that I do not trust. As for a memory.......I have very few and those I do have I am not totally sure is a true memory or something that my young mind made up. This memory I can share though. All my life I have been able to draw....I enjoy it and its something I do well and something I got from my father. The last time I saw my father was in 1983 when we satyed with him for a few weeks. So much focus on the perpetrator with an execution date looming, that I wanted to remember Brandon. So sweet, innocent baby, Brandon Baugh, this is for you. He was really tiny," said Brandon's mother, Melissa Baugh. "He was really sweet. Great baby." In pictures, his bright, brown eyes and sweet smile are reminders of all that would never be. As Eryn put it, "So many hopes and aspirations that I had for Brandon, and all those were just taken away in a moment of her rage."
