SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas man is scheduled to be executed Thursday for a 2005 murder.
Clifton Lamar Williams, 31, of Tyler, was convicted of slaying of 93-year-old Cecelia Schneider, who was fatally beaten, strangled and stabbed at her home in Tyler. Her body was set on fire and her car and purse containing $40 were stolen. DNA and fingerprint evidence linked him to her slaying.
In April, Williams lost a U.S. Supreme Court appeal to delay the execution when justices refused to review his case.
Victim's daughter: "We have such relief that this guy is off the streets"
Schneider's daughter, Barbara Holder, said in an interview with KLTV at the time of the trial that she attended the trial every day to honor her mother's memory.
"I've stayed here through all this because I wanted him to see my face every time he turned around because I was representing mother and I didn't want him to look around and see an empty court on mother's side," she said.
Cecilia has lived for 93 years only to die under such brutal circumstances. Lethal injection is too easy for this guy.

Texas has seven more scheduled executions after Williams. They claim to have sufficient pentobarbital. Why is it Texas can get the drugs in large quantities and other states cannot get enough for one?

A delay until questions about some incorrect testimony @ his 2006 trial can be resolved.

How can there be any question of his guilt when, "Investigators said Williams led police to a pond where Schneider's purse that had contained about $40 was found, along with a knife from her kitchen that investigators believe was used to stab her."
