Anthony Grandison was sentenced to death for ordering the murder of Piechowicz and Kennedy. Vernon Evans was the hitman who was hired for the job.
None of them have the option to choose the gas chamber. They were given a one time choice in 1994 when the law was changed. They didn't choose lethal gas then so they can't change their minds now. This is of course a purely hypothetical argument since even if this repeal effort fails in the house you can be sure that MD will never carry out another execution.

I can't see any good reason why this shouldn't go through, and hopefully other states will follow. If they actually manage to repeal, there's still hope for common sense, justice and compassion.

Compassion for killers! Oh that is delicious and oh so curious. Tell me dear fellow, (nd im being brutally honest again as is my way) I tasted a little of the mayhem that these sadistic creeps seem to enjoy ( and its a real bloodlust by the way that executions fail to 'arouse') When I was gleefully killing birds and small creatures, would you have been my friend? Or would you have shunned me like so many ignorant classmates? Compassion? Pah. But your naive support for the warped is duly noted if not believed (by me in any case.)
Take a leaf out of my honesty, yOU aRe BEinG uSEd .

To do away with the DP out of "compassion"? Compassion: A "FEELING" of deep sympathy & sorrow for another who is stricken" by misfortune to alleviate the suffering of?? Suffering of Murderers? Your "emotions" . I like your screen name it fits you well.

And Maryland has all but abolished the death penalty. I can only guess which state will be next.
