Never mind. We'll talk this over on Sept. 6th. ;D (Not an execution date) I actually had to look this up. My brain's too clogged with law right now to even remember such great events. It'll be an interesting match, especially with such likeable players as "Marko I-can-buy-your-life Arnautovic". ;D

Partly this board - which used to be good and well moderated gone down a bit ! We should not get personal against each other - and discuss subjects in a proper manner ! Discussions about the first verse of the German National anthem should be dealt under miscellaneous and not in here ! Personal attacks just scares people off and lots of regulars are not seen here for a while - This I found from an anti block about McCarthy TEXAS INMATE Kimberly McCarthy granted 60 day reprieve The planned execution of a female inmate in Texas has been postponed for 60-days by a judge in the Lone Star state. The execution, which was planned for after 6 p.m. this evening would have been the first time in over two years a female inmate would have faced the death penalty. Kimberly McCarthy, 51, was sentenced to death for the 1997 robbery, beating and fatal stabbing of her 71-year-old neighbour Dorothy Booth - she was due to receive a lethal injection. State District Judge Larry Mitchell issued a reprieve for 51-year-old Kimberly McCarthy less than five hours before she could have been taken to the death chamber for the 1997 slaying of a neighbor. Dallas County Assistant District Attorney Shelly Yeatts says McCarthy's execution date now is April 3. McCarthy's lawyers contend the jury that convicted her of murder was improperly selected on the basis of race. McCarthy is black. Her jury was made up of 11 whites and one black person. I understand your point Breka but most forums wil have abit of banter. For me personally its easy to ignore, its just words on a computer screen and I am able to shrug them off pretty easily. Someone has a pop at your country or whatever just scroll on by, perhaps having a chuckle to yourself

Yeah but Steve, it wasn't just a pop at Germany was it? If I recall, the "racist card" was mentioned in regard to this case in the OP, well, I have seen more racism in this thread today, and it makes me sick. Because someone is German, does not make thwm a Nazi.

Because someone is German, does not make thwm a Nazi. What part was racist about Kimberly McCarthy's case the fact that the one minority juror was also willing to send this serial killer woman to death or the fact that she murdered three elderly women, and one was in a wheel chair? We know one of the victims of McCarthy's was white. If the other two victims were white would that make McCarthy a racist for murdering white women or the jury racist for sending her to death? She wasn't tried for the other two murders but indicted. This is why they sentenced her to death. Because she was proved to be a future threat. If the other victims weren't white but of another race would this still be a racist issue?

Its not so much that but I do not think that compassion for the true victim and dealing with the perp in a human way are mutually exclusive, I think you can give LWOP and still have compassion for the real victim, the real truth inj my opinion is that the DP is simply a rage vent, sometimes has little or no bearing on the victim, their family wishes and such, -it certainly cannot be argued to reduce crime and it is not equally applied in a fair and consistent manner and never will be because any society that applies it always does it corruptly.

Felix there was me thinking you were an intelligent man! Seems the couple of years I have been away your head has been filled with even more cotton wool and trips to la la land must have become more frequent. If you actually bother to dip your toes into some real statistics you will see since the abolishment of the death penalty here in the UK the crime level has risen and risen. When the death penalty was abolished in the states the crime level rose and when it was reinstated they dropped again, not quite rocket science is it even for a menopausal dame such as yourself! Felix, I have said this to you over the years and will continue to say it to you. Take a Long hard look at your children, wife, partner, mother, adored friend and think about their fingers being hacked off for a crack whore to get a ring, think about their fear, think about their torment, their thoughts, their last words in the world, all because someone wanted a quick fix. Imagine NEVER seeing that person again, never hearing their voice, never smelling them. Sometimes a piece of music will tip you over the edge, a smell of their favourite food in the air, the list could go on for ever. I don't know what will make you see sense Felix, I genuinely feel you are anti out of stubbornness sometimes, a cheap thrill of online banter, but if you were to ever god forbid experience someone like Kimberly in your life then I am sure your viewpoint would change. We euthanise dangerous dogs everyday to protect society, I don't see you campaigning for lwop for pit bulls and such like. Human rights have gone all too far, in my opinion they should be given up when you kill an innocent person. One last point that I will make to you Felix is admittedly yes I think a small iota for me regarding the death penalty is about rage, it is only natural after my experience, but let me tell you something I see it as a prevention. Prevention in ten times the cure Felix. By sentencing killers to the death penalty we are ensuring our society is a safer place.

Prevention in ten times the cure Felix. By sentencing killers to the death penalty we are ensuring our society is a safer place. Well considering I currently hold and have held the forensic caseload for this area in one of the three high secure hospitals in the uk I rahter think its an acheivement to have remained as detached from the hard reality of this type of offender as your post seems to suggest. My life is far removed from cotton wool, theraputic settings and the cuddly other things you suggest inhabit my world. As for human rights my record there to date is a significant amount of lawsuits against me on the basis I have somehow professionally violated some individuals by argueing for their continued incarceration. So go right ahead Eminey and suggest for as long as you like that I do not inhabit the real world, I think you will struggle. Your post reeks of a lack of a grip on the fundamental truth and that is this, the only difference between me and most pros is simply I dotn think its neccessary to kill captured perps, suggesting I inhabit a totally different world in that sense is a very weak arguement. And yes whilst I have never thank God so far experienced a family member being killed and hope I never do, I have had a significant number of family members of victims thank me rather than curse me for my efforts. My next two lawsuits clash in April so the courts still have to decide which takes precedence. Coem back to me if you dare with a real arguement. I suppose I am odd to you in soem ways, particualrly in that I do the job I do without having had a close personal experience of such a loss being my motivator, but having acknowledged that I do see a wide range of offenders and sometimes that can provide a perspective wider than a limited personal one.

If I dare! #rolls up sleeves#. Felix I have been around the block on this board for about the same amount of time as you and yes I dare to challenge your delusions. I have to hand statistics that arent covered in anti *crap* to prove that the death penalty does in fact lower crime rates and proves that it acts as a deterrent. Please if you fancy some online humiliation be my guest and I shall provide them for you. The reason I say that someone who has been captured should receive the death penalty rather than life without parole is simple as simple can be, they took a life in cold blood, they should then have to give up theirs. Have a read of the moors murder transcripts, imagine that little girl begging for her mummy was your little girl, imagine having to hear that, hearing that played in your head for a lifetime, then tell me those that did it should get a cushy life in a cell, with exercise, television, three square meals a day, letters from scum pals, visits from friends, pets, eduction! come on Felix, now tell me who has lost touch with reality and the real world. My little girl would have been in her second year at senior school this coming September, thinking about her future, what she wanted to be when she grew up, a boy she may have a crush on, dancing around to Justin Beiber, testing her luck with makeup, snugging with me on the sofa after silly snowball fights, I could go on Forever couldn't I, you see all I have left is my imagination here, what she would be doing, how she would look, what she would sound like. I am not saying that to be pro death penalty you should have experienced loss to a killer at all, but sometimes I feel as though the only people who really get me from the inside out are those that have walked my lonely path. And shall I tell you where my ex is now Felix? Walking around the streets like life owes him everything. What should have happened to him never did because the UK is full of do gooders who argue against true justice. I shall now pull my sleeves back down, dry my tears and stand proud.

As for imagining the details of that crime I dont have to, as I have had reason to acquaint myself with them. I sincerely hope the individual who ended your little girls life never again sees the light of day and I do not argue with you if you say the human rights charter in Britain is a criminals charter, I am aware it is. What prisons have you seen the inside of Eminey? Ashworth where Brady is for that matter is far from pretty on the inside, why do you think Brady isstarving himself and Sutcliffe trying every trick in the book to get out along with a myriad of other individuals whose names are not in the public domain? I keep hearing this fantasy about prisons being cushy and have yet to see one. The local one here? You must be joking, high secure in liverpool? Where is this prison in the UK that people keep talkign about, ok I know Norway is different, but I assuem you mean the UK? I have seen the inside of the htree high secure hospital and plenty of prisons, I jsut have not seen one I could in all honesty describe the way some pros lead other to eblieve exist.
