Maybe ibelive cant handle or dont want to believe that there is a scumbag in the family... True Porky, some dont. When my friends discovered their brother was a murderer and I discovered my cousin was a rapist, we had no problem in cutting them out of our lives. But some people cant accept the truth that one of their own can be bad. I could sort of understand ibelieve more if he was close to his uncle but he's not seen the guy since he was 5. Id be interested if the whole family think he's innocent.

Ibelieve, I can understand your desire to believe that your uncle was innocent, but the evidence from his original trials proves that he is not. A shoe print was found near the victim's car, which matched your uncle's shoe. One of his fingerprints was found on the exterior of the car. A friend who had initially provided him with an alibi testified at trial that he saw Happ walking along the same highway where the victim was abducted and murdered on the night of the murder. Your uncle also confessed to a fellow inmate and gave details of the crime. In addition, your uncle had a history of other violent felonies, including an abduction and armed robbery. Below is a link to the FSSC opinion on your uncle's direct appeal. There is a link in another post on this page to the opinion of the federal district court denying habeas relief which also provides a summary of the crime and the evidence against your uncle. www.law.fsu.edu/library/flsupct/74634/op-74634-jan.pdfkma367

Of course I knew what I was posting. I guess I should have mentioned that this wasn't the first time in 25 years that I have talked to him, my fault. We have talked often through out the years. I know this is a pro board and I came upon it searching for him. There's nothing wrong with anything that anyone has posted. I was maybe thinking maybe people might take a second and think twice about people killing people....
Also I guess after everything I have read and the things that have changed since the first transcript it just doesn't add up.
Did you know the "JAIL RAT" tried to recant his testimony of my uncle saying that he didn't confess the murder and that the police pressured him into it but the judge ordered him to speak to his defense and if he did he said this he would end up going to prison for perjury. Also there was a DNA test that didn't prove anything plus pubic hair from a colored person. The shoe size was different, no prints that were his inside the car at all. Why would he break the glass of a car with his fist and not have any cuts or even a broken hand? He's a skinny guy and always has been. There are some other things but I'm sure if your curious enough you can read through out.
I guess there's just to many of unanswered questions for me and that their was a very poor defense for his trial.
There are some new posts about his new defense because of it being a court appointed attorney and that it shouldn't be.
One day maybe we will find out the truth....

"I was maybe thinking maybe people might take a second and think twice about people killing people."
The second I took told me I was right. When I see a murderer thats all I can see in his/her background is a gallows. It appears in a shadow behind the killer kinda like the crucifix above the deers head on a bottle of Jagermeister. But alas the message is differnet to me. Like Marley in Dickens' book, the gallows are forged by the persons sins. If you are truly this guy relative, Im sorry for your family. I bear no ill towards you.

Ibelieve, I have read all of those things and the finding of the facts by the courts does not support your claims that any of the issues you've raised.
Miller actually never attempted to "recant" his testimony. He refused to testify at the second trial because he had recently been gang raped and stabbed while in prison in Oklahoma and he was undergoing physical rehabilitation and psychological counseling as a result of that incident. There was no error in reading his testimony from the first trial to the jury. As for the alleged "lie," Miller confessed to a public defender that he lied about consulting a lawyer in his testimony, but did not recant his testimony regarding the confession of your uncle. That attorney's testimony to impeach Miller's credibility was not relevant and was properly not allowed.
There was actually no DNA testing done in this case due to the lack of sufficient material for DNA testing. Additionally, your uncle told his trial attorney that DNA testing would not be a good idea, which suggests that your uncle knew that the results of any testing would've been inculpatory. As for the pubic hair, as I recall, an attendant at the morgue was believed to have washed the victim's body with a used sponge, which could explain the presence of that hair. It's interesting to note that in all the post-conviction proceedings, your uncle's attorneys have failed to request any DNA testing using current methods that can obtain DNA from previously insufficient samples. I am sure that they're saving that to obtain a stay if an execution date is set.
As to the alleged lack of injury to your uncle's hand, he was observed to have a red and swollen right hand on the day following the murders, which is consistent with his having punched out the window of a car.
The shoe size issue is a bit ambiguous. There was apparently a mix-up with the exhibits used at trial and the expert hired by the defense did not do any further examination after the correct exhibits were substituted into the record. The defense did try to gain release of the print and the shoes for examination by their expert, but that request was denied. However, the expert's original testimony was not based on an examination of the actual evidence and, therefore, one would think that he would be able to determine the size of the shoe from the correct exhibit in the same way that he apparently determined the size from the erroneous one.
In all of the post-conviction litigation, the fact that your uncle's fingerprints were found on the exterior of the victim's car has never been refuted, nor has your uncle ever explained how his fingerprints could come to be on the victim's car if he was never in contact with her.

Great day, Death Warrant signed, execution set for 10/15/13. ibelieve, answer me this. How is it Happs fingerprints were in the car? both on the back window of the hatchback and under the driver side door latch? Also, why did Happ refuse a DNA test? As quoted in the transcripts; "it wouldn't be a good idea". Guilt by omission.

The story is what it is. Except for the man that did those things isn't in prison. My uncle Bill is innocent. I flew to Florida this year from Oregon to meet him for the first time since I was 5and spoke with him. He's a smart and good man with a trouble child hood but he's no killer. I'm not sure if anyone has read all the transcripts. One thing is for sure is that he needs a new trial so that we know for sure, that killing my uncle is what is right for you and anyone else that feels the way you do.

Man confesses to murder during execution 2013-10-16 08:42
Washington - An American man confessed to a murder he had long denied as he was put to death on Tuesday night in Florida by lethal injection.
William Happ, aged 51, had spent 24 years on death row in connection with the death of a young woman named Angela Crowley in 1986.
The state corrections system used a new lethal chemical for the first time, and the execution reportedly did not go smoothly.
Florida news reports said Happ took more than 15 minutes to die, as his body repeatedly made convulsive movements.
He was pronounced dead at 18:16 (2016 GMT, said Misty Cash, a spokesperson for the state prison system.
Happ, who had drug and alcohol problems, met Crowley in a parking lot. The woman was strangled and raped, and her body found in a canal.
He was initially arrested for an unrelated crime, and the murder probe led to him because of a footprint of his that was found by investigators.
In a statement expressing his last words as he lay on the table where he was ultimately executed, Happ confessed.
"For 27 years, the horrible murder of Angela Crowley has been clouded by circumstantial evidence and uncertainty. For the sake of her family, loved ones and all concerned, it is to my agonising shame that I must confess to this terrible crime," Happ wrote.
He added: "I wish to offer my most sincere and heartfelt apologies not only to those concerned for Angela Crowley but also to those I deceived and allowed to believe in my innocence".
It was the 80th execution in Florida since capital punishment was reinstated in the United States in 1976. It was the 31st this year in the country.
As stocks of the usual lethal injection drug dwindle, most US states that carry out executions are turning to new drugs. This is sparking lawsuits from death row prisoners that the changes will cause undue suffering.
Such is the case of another death row inmate in Florida who is scheduled to be put to death in November.
HAVE A NICE DAY!

The drug can have some strange effects on some people, so who knows what a large dose will do?

So 25 years 2 trials, 12 appeals, 18 hearings versus a few hours meeting after not seeing him since the age of 5. My eyes are rolling. Edit to add if its support you want ibelieve, you won't find much on a pro board. There are sites for that, mind your head on the way in and watch out for the harpies. Attorney's have to make a living too. This POS should have been terminated long ago.

That's a sad statement, making a living off the victims death/families horror, while the murderer lives on for decades.

I too want to add my genuine satisfaction for the conduct of justice and law enforcement that took place in Florida. Angie Crowley for sure has suffered tremendously before she died. I see nothing wrong the scummy, William Happ, has suffered too so he got to realize what his victim felt when he did to her what he did. The fact that all the years on death row he denied his heinous deed, and only on the gurney he finally has confessed, can only suggest that NO one in America has ever been wrongly executed, and what stems from this is the plain fact that the justice system in America is entirely infallible. William Happ's execution should be a clear reminder for all those who consider taking someone's else life, that what goes around comes around. No matter how long an offender has succeeded escaping the law, one day his karma will catch on him and he will face the whole consiquences of his deeds. www.dreamindemon.com/2013/10/16/william-happ-executed-lethal-injection-longer-die/
