Guess our anti brethren will have to find another "innocence" case to hang their hats on.
Texas panel issues no ruling in execution case
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- A state panel looking into the case of an executed Texas inmate is taking no immediate position on whether investigators correctly determined the fire that killed his three children was intentionally set. Death penalty opponents have argued the case of Cameron Todd Willingham could be the first instance of a person wrongly executed in the United States since capital punishment resumed more than three decades ago. The New York-based Innocence Project first raised questions about the case in 2006, two years after Willingham was executed for the deadly home fire 20 years ago. The Texas Forensic Science Commission said Thursday it will not issue a finding on the arson determination until the state attorney general rules whether it has jurisdiction to do so.

I've been sort of following this and everything I read about the 'new and improved' research says that the fire wasn't "necessarily" arson. "Could have" been electrical. Patterns "could also" be caused by natural means.
Surely there was other evidence linking him with the murders than forensic fire evidence.

The fire investigation was just part of the evidence the jury viewed. The trial is well-documented. His testimony about was happened after the fire started was highly implausible, and his actions set off alarm bell with both the police and firefighters at the scene. A fairly decent synopsis of the incident can be read here, but remember it's Wikipedia, which anyone can edit. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameron_Todd_Willingham

Again, I have never (and I really mean Never) found a criminal who was alleging innocence based on one fact that didn't have a Raft of other evidence supporting his guilt that he was conveniently not mentioning. And again, what I initially read about the second investigation was that the fire wasn't Necessarily arson but Could have been accidental. They presented their findings in Exactly the same way Excedrin cannot say that their product works Better than any other. They can only say No Other Product works better than Excedrin. Might have been arson, might have not. Apparently can't prove that one way or the other. But lots of other evidence pointed him out or they wouldn't have arrested him in the first place.

Could have been is not Was.
His actions spoke louder than words or any evidence in this particular case.
Glad he is dead after either killing or letting his daughters die.
