As the decade draws to a close, it is time to look back at some of the executions that defined the 2000s. Below is a link to a list posted on one of the premier death penalty sites aside from this board. While I agree with some of the rankings, I was surprised Tookie did not make the cut. So what do you think? What executions this past decade were most significant to you? Although I don't agree with it entirely, I agree with #1 and many of the others: www.executedtoday.com/2009/12/14/10-executions-that-defined-the-2000s/

I would also like to give a shout-out to double-murderer Scott Hain. Although his 2004 execution is not all that special in itself, Scotty "Potty" Hain was the last person executed in the USA for a crime committed when the perp was under 18.

Cameron Todd Willingham is the most significent to me. It mentioned the fact that he made an insulting gesture at his ex wife from the gurney.......There is doubt about his guilt and her testimony was damning to his case. If he is guilty of the crime, then he deserved to die, if not, this is just one more mistake made by the great American justice system.

My recollection is that she supported him until some time after his conviction and sentencing.

We needed more American executions on that list but I can understand why we didn't have a lot of people executed that were big in the 2000s.
