Hey, I'm doing a speech in favor of the death penalty and I found the James Moore case. In 1962, James Moore raped and strangled a 14 year old girl named Pamela Moss. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole, but, because of a change in New York’s sentencing laws he became eligible for parole every two years. Does anyone have a primary reference for the story? I'd really appreciate any help you can give me, thanks

This happened in Rochester, NY. I am originally from there. Only lived in Batavia since '77. I'll dig around and see what I can find for you, Star. Not gonna be easy, don't think much on archives at the local newspaper. might try this 'tho...they might be able to help. www.democratandchronicle.com(dunno if this hi-lites when I post it). This obviously happened a long time ago. Yes, Moore does come up every two yrs, but always denied. Sorry, can't help more. cheers, Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY
