Perry Austin confessed after 8 years that he killed my 9 yr old son David Kazmouz in Houston TX. He asks for the death penalty, by advocates against the defends himself and a couple of days before the execution, is talk into appealing by advocates against the death penalty and people he pen pals with. Now I am being contacted by the people who work for his attorney and also against the death penalty. The share all sorts of details with me, of course opening old wounds. I wasn't at first sure what they wanted from me, but it kept me in the loop and I knew what waa going on, however, I think they are asking me to send a letter to the appeal board asking them to give him life instead. They are also telling me thinks doubting his guilt. Although they say he had something to do with it he actually did not do it. I am so angry........I am pro death penalty...not just because I am a victim, they deserve to be put to death..this man took my 9 yr old son and killed him.
Why I am posting is I am confused..can these people contact me? Can they play on my emotions like this legally? What can I do? Does anyone have any suggestions, how I can stay involved to make sure his sentence does not get overturned?

I would suggest you contact a victim's rights advocate. Since you're in Houston, check out www.jfa.net/resources.html Justice for All gives resources available in the Houston area. Also, Charlene Hall (the moderator of this board and general-all-around- victim-advocate) may be able to help you. She's pretty wired in the Houston area and she could probably steer you in the right direction. My first guess would be to contact the prosecutor's office and find out what these people really want from you. Good luck to you. I'm hoping you get the justice you deserve for your son.
