Seems to have been deleted. I assume it is about Carroll Pickett and his stuff about "Death House Door".
There are so many contradictions in it, compared to his earlier writings.

I assume they still have a chaplain, but who is it now?

I assume they still have a chaplain, but who is it now? No clue. I think it would be a cool job though. You would get to be right in the death chamber during almost every execution. You would also get the chance to tell the POS to his face right they snuff him that he is probably going to Hell.

I'm sure that the chaplain must like to see the flatline on the EKG.

I'm sure that the chaplain must like to see the flatline on the EKG. Nah I don't reckon he'd be that interested. I said on a different thread, I wouldn't want a chaplain or priest with me.

Do some states use EKGs or do they just guess when they are dead?

Do some states use EKGs or do they just guess when they are dead? I doubt anything is left to guess work

Kind of easier if there was an EKG though.

Do some states use EKGs or do they just guess when they are dead? It's doubtful they use an EKG machine. If the three cardinal signs of death are present, off he goes to the family, or more likely, Peckerwood Hill.

Is that some gobblygook tha AV kids use? I don't know what an 'av kid' is but I was told years ago that if theres a bad picture on a VHS cassette, then ironing it would help. Its probably just mumbo jumbo, but I'll be glad if it does work.

I watched this video last year. Interesting, but no more definitive than it was objective. And speaking of objectifying, more than anything I felt sorry for this old man, who obviously has major depression issues.

What are the three cardinal signs of death? Absence of pulse, absence of respiration, and fixed, dilated pupils.

Yeah, but I know that some states DO use an EKG. Texas, California, Mississippi, Virginia, South Dakota use it. Can you give us a link stating that TX uses a heart monitor?

If you look at some gurney picks, from behind the gurney, you can see a shelf with an EKG. I don't mean to be picky, but that is not good enough. Seeing a shelf with something that looks like it might be a heart meter is insufficient. It could be the controls for the boom microphone that the inmate uses to give his final statement. I have never heard that TX uses a meter, and I follow this stuff pretty closely. I need a link.

Back when that little green room had a couple of comfy chairs in it, California attached a diaphram to the occupants and ran a rubber tube out a port to a doctor who listened with his stethoscope. I'm sure they changed the procedure since LI.

I think that they wait until the last drug is administered before they pronounce death by going in there. I'm not sure on their protocols, but I can find out.

I think that they wait until the last drug is administered before they pronounce death by going in there. I'm not sure on their protocols, but I can find out. Con is talking about the gas chamber. The executed convict was left in the chamber for at least an hour while it was pumped and detoxified. There was a stethoscope attached to the condemned that went outside the chamber so death could be pronounced.
