Excluding the fact that we were tied with Alabama for a few days, do you think Texas will lead in executions for the entire year? Will there be any lull in Texas that would allow another state to pass us, even for a day. We jumped out to the early lead, and as always, we are doing our part to stay out ahead!!!!!!!!!

Well, Oklahoma executed Brown last night, and it was only after 14 years and his lawyer said he had exhausted all of his appeals. I know that 14 years is a long time, but some have been on DR for 25+, how can the appeal process be so different in other states?

Well, Georgia was in first place for a few weeks last year. But this year it is TX all the way, especially after next week.

The last time Texas was in second place was in 2001, and then only because Oklahoma was clearing its death row. The only way I see Texas taking second place is if Florida actually DOES SOMETHING about its short list of inmates and gets rid of all of them in one year.

What are the barred windows, witness room or the holding cell. I would assume it is the witness room, but if it is the holding cell, it must make the last hours even worse ! Ron

Ron It is the witness room. On the other side of the glass, you can see the dividing wall between the inmate's witness room, and the victim's family witness room. It used to be one room and victim witnesses were not allowed. The side nearest the head of the inmate is the victim's side.
