I am a senior at Duke University and am writing my honors thesis about the death penalty and different organizations that advocate differing opinions about the issue. Everyone on these message boards has strong opinions and would be a valuable resource for me. Would you be willing to answer some questions about your interest in the death penalty? Any information will only be used for my paper!
If so, please contact me at ceg8@duke.edu or via the message board.
Thanks! Chrissie

it's rarely enforced and never given enough. most murderers are walking free among every one of us while liberals are defending them. society doesn't realize that, UNTIL A KILLER MURDERS THEM OR ONE OF THEIR LOVED ONES!

Chrissie,
You made this same request back in May. My understanding is that you also made unsolicited personal contact with a member or two with this request, but when asked to furnish proof of who you were and what you were doing (like the name and contact information for your professor), you failed.
Until you do so, I would caution anyone from giving any personal information, or any information at all, to you.

Allison, mod and former Dukie (law) Hi, I understand your concern, but I did provide my advisor's name and contact information via e-mail. If for some reason the member did not get the e-mail, I apologize for the problem. The "personal contact" I made was simply through e-mail using the e-mail addresses of members who had their e-mail addresses listed on their profiles. If someone had their e-mail listed, I did not see a problem with sending them a request e-mail. If you'd like my thesis advisor's contact information, I'd be happy to send that along.

As I said via PM, the person you contacted personally does not have her email address listed publicly in her profile. You can understand the concern in that case.
