From Citizens Against Homicide:
This parole was set for last February, 2005 and delayed until November 1st. We just received notification from Mr. Tom Golabek in Florida, but our November newsletter will not be in the mail until the first week of November. We ask all of you to please send a letter as soon as possible to assist in keeping this killer in prison. From Tom Giacomo, brother of Lori Jewel, murdered at 35 years of age in Pacific Grove, CA. on October 1993. Murderer, Steven Beauchaine, was offered a plea bargain for second degree murder rather than first degree if he would agree to a trial by a judge rather than a jury. He took the offer. Beauchaine murdered Lori by inflicting multiple stab wounds on her body, then deeply slicing Lori's neck. He then ransacked her apartment taking jewelry, money, and her car. He then partied at a local bar and gave a piece of her jewelry to a woman he was trying to pick up. Lori was a Dental Hygienist, earned her college degree in New York and loved living on the Monterey Peninsula. She left a ten year old son, who is now 22, and is serving in the US Army. He continues to have emotional problems from the trauma he experienced from the murder and loss of the most loving person in his life. Please help us keep this criminal in prison. The crime was heinous.
Tom Golabek, Lori's brother. MURDERER: Steven Beauchaine I.D.# J-19675 SEND LETTERS TO: Dennis Kenneally Executive Officer Board of Parole 1515 "K" St., Suite 600 Sacramento, CA, 95814 COPY TO FAMILY: Tom Golabek
Please email a copy of your letter to me at charhall@gmail.com and I will forward to the family.

Charlene, My brain is so jumbly most days right now there is no way I could construct my own letter. Is there perhaps some format, maybe 3-4 of them that I could use? I'm okay at revising Thanks. What a nitemare for this family

I am so glad that people have gotten behind this idea. I'm not sure how helpful these letters are, but I am thoroughly convinced that they can't hurt!

So the case was tried as secoind degree rather than first based solely upon the fact that the defendant waived his 6th Amendment Right to trial by jury? Did the prosecution have a particular reason for this?
Can you give case details so that we can refer to them in letters.
(BTW do Yanks usually have PO Boxes?)
