 Danny HopperI am asking for help to keep Perry Jesse Law in prison. Perry Law is serving a life sentence for multiple offenses, including the murder of Daniel Hopper. Perry Law has a long history of violent crimes. In 1975, Perry Law got into a shootout with Sheriff's deputies in which he held his mother by the neck with a gun to her back and threatened to shoot her if the police did not leave. The incident ended with Perry shooting at the deputies and the deputies shot back and wounded him. Perry Law was convicted for those crimes but he was back on the streets by 1978. By the fall of 1979, Danny Hopper and his girlfriend Julie had been together for 5 years and thety had two small children, but were separated for a few months, during which time Julie began seeing Perry Law. In April 1980, Julie had left Perry and reconciled with Danny but Perry did not accept that the relationship had ended. On April 14, 1980, Perry Law spent the afternoon drinking and target shooting. He then drove to Julie's apartment and after a brief conversation, pulled out a gun and began threatening Julie. While holding her at gunpoint, Perry said to Julie, "If I can't have you, no man will." When Danny arrived after work, Julie screamed, "Danny, he's got a gun - he's going to kill you!" But Julie and Danny's children were in that apartment. After Danny entered, Perry shot Danny three times in the chest before Danny fell to the ground. Perry then kicked Danny, turned him over and shot him twice more the deliver the fatal wounds. With Danny dying on the ground, Perry pulled Julie outside at gunpoint and tried to steal Julie's car. That didn't work so he broke into another apartment and held the neighbor hostage at gunpoint. Danny was only 25 years old and he left behind two small children and a grieving family. Perry Law has proven time and again that he is not capable of functioning in society. My family and I would appreciate your help in keeping Perry Law in prison. Thank you. I am asking for help to keep Perry Jesse Law in prison. I did exactly that, Charlene. I sent a letter to Ms. Perez in Sacramento and a copy, along with a cover letter, to Ms. Hopper, as well. You did not mention in this request what Kathleen Hopper's relation is/was to Danny Hopper -- widow, daughter, brother, etc. Also, the complete addresses are: Margarita Perez, Chair Board of Prison Terms 1515 K St. Ste 600 Sacramento CA 95814-4053 Kathleen Hopper PO Box 16427 Fresno CA 93755-6427 |

From looking at the memorial web site, I think that she is his sister. I am asking for help to keep Perry Jesse Law in prison. I did exactly that, Charlene.
