Policeman 'raped drunken man'

A POLICE officer raped a drunken man he escorted home from Sydney's Oxford Street, a court was told today.
Joel Kerde pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual intercourse without consent at the start of his trial in the NSW District Court.
Mr Kerde, 37, a constable at the time of the alleged offence, agreed that he was on patrol on April 6 last year and helped the man home to his unit, but denied raping him.
Crown prosecutor Billy Purves told the court Mr Kerde and his partner, a probationary constable, were patrolling in a police vehicle when they saw the alleged victim on Oxford Street.
The officers gave him a lift to his nearby home, as he was affected by alcohol.
The man alleged Mr Kerde raped him after taking him upstairs to his unit, the court was told.
Mr Purves said a hand towel found at the unit had semen stains on it matching Mr Kerde's DNA profile.
But defence barrister Wayne Flynn told the court the complainant gave inconsistent accounts of events when he spoke to Surry Hills police soon after the alleged rape.
"The complainant, when he goes to the police station, gives an account – but that account changes and changes and changes," Mr Flynn said.
"His behaviour can only be described as totally off the air, to use the vernacular.
"It is the defence case that (the rape) did not happen."
The trial continues.
Read into it what you will. But the USA cops heaps on this board, so I give you some Aussie stuff.

If the guy is guilty he should go to jail forever.
There are plenty of US cops who deserve to cop it. Unfortunately as this blights the name of the rest of them
