Does anyone have a good reason why the death penalty nshould exist? If you give someone the death penalty to a murderer, then aren't you just sinking down lower to their level?Someone please reply,(im doing a report for school, (anti-death penalty))

There are at least four good reasons for continuing the DP for murder. 1) It provides an approach to justice for murder victims. 2) Deterrence protects possible future murder victims and potential future murderers from the crime of murder. It also prevents some other violent crimes. 3) Incapacitence prevents convicted murderers from killing prison employess, other prisoners and member of the general public. 4) The DP provides several benefits to murderers and their families. There is a difference between being guilty of murder and not being guilty of murder. That is the primary reason that the gentle execution of brutal murderers does not involve sinking even close to the low level of murderers. Please review the case described below and explain how the execution of the murderers could ever be considered sinking to the level the murderers. In addition to the crimes described, the murderers committed several other crimes, including the murder of another woman. abcd.freewebsitehosting.com/Wichita/WichitaPretrial.html

you go from the particular to the general. No two murders are the same any more that any two murder victims are the same. These two pieces of *crap* do deserve never to see the light of day again!

just to say that whilst I do oppose the DP, the case you provided the link to was pretty graphic reading! What those poor people, including the survivor, went through is beyond the bounds of an ordinary person to comprehend or understand. I certainly wont worry if they do get executed because, but would never agree that this is right. This is not because I see any redeeming qualities in either of them, but though they have not acted like human beings, nevertheless, that is what they are. I thought they must have been brothers or cousins, in order to act this way as a pair. Does anyone have any information as to how that poor woman who survived is doing mentally? I sincerely hope the stops are being pulled out and the support resources she must need are made available. What an utterly despicable evil thing to do to another group of human beings! Were they on substances or something to reduce their threshold for normal decency and standards?

Please bear in mind that what was in the linked testimony wasn't the complete story. Remember that since Heather was killed, we don't know the details of what happened to her. Heather had a medical condition that caused her to suffer pain in cool surroundings. She had to wear sweaters and relatively heavy clothing to avoid pain at normal room temperatures. So even while she wasn't being abused or raped she continued to suffer physically. Also, one of the murderer-rapists infected Holly G. with an incurable sexually transmitted disease. I believe it is genital warts. She stopped teaching, but was able to testify during the victim impact phase of the trial. Apparently her hair won't grow in the area of her head where she was shot. I walked barefoot in the snow for a very short period of time when it was 16 degrees F to get some idea of some small part of the victim's suffering. It was very unpleasant after just a few seconds. Holly G. laid still in the snow after she was shot to convince the murderer-rapists that she was dead. Then, after they ran over her with the truck, she stayed down in the snow for a few more minutes to make sure the murderer-rapists were really gone. Then she went over to her boyfriend and turned him over. She saw that he was bleeding from the eyes, so she took off her sweatshirt and wrapped his head with it. That was her only piece of clothing at the time. Then she ran about a mile toward lights that she saw in the distance. But she was still afraid that the murderer-rapists would come back and kill her. So every time she saw or heard a vehicle, she hid naked in the snow until it was gone. just to say that whilst I do oppose the DP, the case you provided the link to was pretty graphic reading! What those poor people, including the survivor, went through is beyond the bounds of an ordinary person to comprehend or understand.

What are your reasons for opposing the death penalty? I just can't understand how people can agree with this conservative thinking. Although, sometimes many people do deserve harsh punishment, why not just give them life in prison. You catch my drift. I mean, I would much rather get lethal injection than spend my life in prison. That would be miserable!
