The parole board voted unanimously for clemency - to change Thomas Whitaker's sentence to life in prison. So clemency has been agreed on. it is now up to the Governor to make the final decision.

If granted by the Governor, it would not be real life in prison. He would be able to be paroled in 30 or less years.

Kent Whittaker seems to running the push for clemency, but they do not mention the other side of the family. "They also ignored the Bartlett family, Patricia's side of the family, who wanted him executed, who feel threatened by him and scared of him."

"They also ignored the Bartlett family, Patricia's side of the family, who wanted him executed, who feel threatened by him and scared of him." LWOP can mean a 30 to 40 yr sentence, depending on what is in the clemency. Then take away NOT" good time" but time served. So, it is possible. This is I think crazy, it was based on the Dads religious beliefs, & how his son has behaved inside while incarcerated. Come on now. Certainly no doubt on guilt or mental issue, bad childhood etc.. White & rich father ? No other family members of those who kill get off DR on those grounds. See what happens soon. The Governor can have a 30 day's stay placed for now, if decides too. To add: The only time LWOP is (REAL) & in "concrete" " is a sentence of 100 yrs or more. They will never go in front of a parole board hearing. So, many believe even a sentence of 20 years for murder means" 20 yrs. Yet they only serve 5 to 7. Times have changed. It's easy to murder & difficult to get convicted or stay convicted no matter what now days.

Decided, he will face life in prison. There will be no chance for parole.
If Bart had been the one who shot them himself, most likely it would not have ended up as it did.
Now his dad can visit him & it will not be thru glass on a phone.
