LUCASVILLE, Ohio -- Gov. Bob Taft is unlikely to grant of stay of execution to a man who killed a Cleveland storeowner, NewsChannel5 reported.
Ernest Martin is scheduled to die by lethal injection at 10 a.m. at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville.
A jury convicted Martin for the botched robbery of Robert Robinson in 1983.
Through the appeal process Martin claimed his innocence, argued that he is mentally retarded and said that he received poor legal aid.
All those arguments have been dismissed by the courts.
Prisons spokeswoman Andrea Dean said Martin spoke with his mother on the phone yesterday and visited at the prison with his son, daughter, sister and brother.
Heres my two cents- this guy thinks he has it bad, he claims poor legal aid, that he is innocent, and he is mentaly retarted, come on who would really belive all that?
It is obvious this guy is trying to delay the punishment that he earned.
Lets hope he gets executed.

I seriously wish I had the intelligence of these pro,s, then I could proceed to live my life with so much certainty and everything would be so simple. I would trust the state always to do the right thing, life would be nicer for me if I could adopt your blind allegiance and absolute belief in the inherent justice of the US judicial system. Hell I could then set myself up as judge of the world, dispensing justice US style to every corner of the Earth! just like little George Bush. Only problem is my background, see I have travelled widely, am educated to degree level, and I am not from the countryside so I cant live in blissful ignorance! Gee, -guess I just cant have everything, eh?

Gee, -guess I just cant have everything, eh? ;D ;D Gee us po ol contry bumpkins is sure glad youall intelligent people could spare a few minutes to help us see the light. I wonder why you think we are not educated, do not travel and from the country? I do not know what degree level you are at but it means little except you continued you college and have a piece of paper. It does not mean you are more intelligent than anyone else is. Maybe you have traveled more than some but some may have traveled more than you may. How many countries have you traveled to and how many of those were not in Europe? What does being from the country have to do with anything? Some people simply do not like the rush and crowds of a big city. I have lived in Houston, Philly, San Diego, Los Angles and a few other cities; I do not like them. I prefer to go out in the morning and hear birds sing and not hear horns blow. I like being able to drive for 15 minutes and be at work, I do not like being stuck in traffic for hours at a time to travel the same distance. I like hearing the coyotes sing at night not hear the sounds of police a siren. Get the picture it is a choice I made because of personal preferences. Or were you implying that country people are stupid and naive and ignorant, IF so you may want to look in a mirror and you will see one that is stupid, naive and ignorant
