The attacker who was a juvenile at the time of the murders is up for parole. Just like PIP, we have only 10 days to respond. Please help by sending letters to Victims Services. Letters should be framed in your own words, but here are guidelines and case information to go by. It does not matter where in the world you live; your letters are extremely valuable. On June 24, 1993, Venancio Medellin Jr.—State ID No. 04766821-TDCJ No. 00762683—along with 5 fellow gang members, kidnapped, gang raped (over the course of many hours), beat, stomped and strangled Jennifer Ertman (age 14) and Elizabeth Peña (age 16). Medellin and the others then bragged about the rapes and murders of the girls to friends.
Elizabeth’s and Jennifer’s bodies were left in the woods for four (4) days in the extreme hot Texas summer before they were discovered.
On September 30, 1993 Venancio Medellin Jr. was convicted of the aggravated sexual assault of Jennifer Ertman and sentenced to 40 years. At age 15 Medellin was sent to The Texas Youth Commission, before his 18th birthday he was given a review and was returned to TYC for 3 years. At the age of 21 it was determined that he would serve the remaining length of his sentence.
Medellin was placed in parole review on February 02, 2009.
I am a concerned citizen who urges the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles to deny Venancio Medellin Jr. —TDCJ No. 00762683—parole and uphold his sentence of 40 years for the Aggravated Sexual Assault of Jennifer Ertman and his involvement in murders of Elizabeth Peña and Jennifer Ertman. Justice demands that he serve the full prison term given to him for his participation in this a heinous crime.
If you have time to gather signatures, please download this petition and get as many signatures as possible and send to Victims Services. www.prodeathpenalty.com/VenancioMedellinPetition.pdf

My letter is on the way Charlene, and I also printed out the petition and will take it to work with me tomorrow to gather signatures. I work in a small community bank, and so, should be able to garner many signers.

Here is what I wrote:
Dear Board of Pardons and Parole,
I am writing to request that you DENY Parole to Venancio Medellin Jr. I implore you to think about what message his release might send to the families and loved ones of his victims, families and loved ones sentenced to a LIFE TIME without ever seeing Jennifer or Elizabeth ever again. Families and loved ones who will ALWAYS have to wonder what Jennifer and Elizabeth would look like today, what they might have named their own children. I implore you to keep this man behind bars for his ENTIRE sentence. Those who love Jennifer and Elizabeth will continue to serve theirs.
Below is an short account of what Mr. Medellin Jr, participated in that resulted in the DEATH of these two young girls ~ Jennifer - 14 and Elizabeth -16:

My letter's written. Double checking ~ Is this where we send it?
Victim Services Division 8712 Shoal Creek Blvd., Suite 265 Austin, TX 78757-6899
Why do they give you so little time to gather support for denying parole?
