Yes, I do wish all the best of luck with this dashing new death chamber. Hopefully it`s going to work with elegance the 13:th of November. I am mainly thinking about the execution staff.

Why not just hanging them in the old traditional way. I never heard about botched execution on the gallows.

(Merely a joke, goodness me.)

Why not just hanging them in the old traditional way. I never heard about botched execution on the gallows. You have definately got a point there, moonlight! I must admit that I´ve read about a few examples of hanging executions that went awry, but naturally the halter alternative is more human and reliable than lethal injections. At least, it appears to be... I may be a knave (though hopefully a plaindealing one but perhaps some day the debate concerning execution-alternatives will reignate the old-fashioned guillotine. Personally I am a great fan of the wellknown chief executioner Albert Pierrepoint (1905-1992) who was the last hangman in Britain. He was a very skilled professional and applied certain tabular forms, adjusting lenght of the halter in proportion to the weight and height of the convict, and other such aspects. There is supposedly a whole science to this sort of performance. Mr Pierrepoint was a proud and lethally (!) efficient civil servant within his craftsmanship.
