Convicted and sentenced to death in the 1999 murder of Stephanie Nieman. The spree in June 1999 began when Lockett and two others forced their way into Bobby Bornt’s residence in Perry, police said. Nieman, 19, of Perry and another 19-year-old from Perry arrived at the home and were accosted by the men and had their hands bound with duct tape. One of the women was raped. Authorities said the women did not know the suspects. Bornt, his nine-month-old son and the two women were taken to a location in Kay County where Nieman was shot. Police said the others were put back in trucks, driven back to Perry and released. The child was not harmed. Nieman’s body was found in a shallow grave along a dirt road near Tonkawa. One of the suspects led police to the body. The woman’s two friends have said they believed they were allowed to live because they had children. In addition to the murder charge, Lockett was found guilty of conspiracy, first-degree burglary, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, three counts of forcible oral sodomy, four counts of first-degree rape, four counts of kidnapping and two counts of robbery by force and fear. Lockett has been on death row since October 11, 2000. THE DUO OF DEATH www.kjrh.com/news/local-news/executions-to-proceed-for-inmates-clayton-lockett-charles-warner-after-appeals-court-denies-stays

The anit DP movement is holding families hostage harming so many with their selfrightous bs. They really at the end give one iota about all involved. Between the actual court procedings as well as the many yrs spent on DR should have been enough already. This last minute stuff is ridiculous torture, barbaric, crap for all.

The executions were actually stayed, not delayed. Doesn't that mean they have to go through the procedure of actually setting new execution dates?
Families of murder victims may need to make new arrangements etc.
Reckon they have played their last card. A month's wait at best.

Thanks, interesting. Not being from the US no idea how they will work it. Have 2 LI's been done in the one day at the one facility? Do the state pay for murder victims families for attending executions for travel and accommodation expenses?
