I watched the film about his life and got to the execution part and I saw the end of it. I was just wondering if his executioner really was a woman in real life as it was in the film? I don't know if its true or not since the film wasn't accurate about many things (Florida gives three volts not one lethal volt. If they had done that, his head probably would have exploded and got the Anti-DP wussies panties in a knot. Also, I highly doubt the witnesses were laughing during his execution and the panel for the chair in in the other room). But does anybody know (or think) his executioner was a woman?

All internet searches do not point to a source document only the movie. The state of Florida keeps the identity of the executioner anonymous. So, who knows? Here is the story released from the Orlando Sentinal - Ted Bundy Execution

What an interesting question. Looking it up I was surprised that there were women executioners. Even the US have had a few. I did find this though: "Moreover here is what The Stranger Beside Me author, Ann Rule writes: "No one knew who the executioner was, but one witness saw thick, curled lashes fringing his/her eyes. 'I think it was a woman.'" Ann Rule was a friend of Bundy when they worked together at a life crises centre.

Ann Rule was a friend of Bundy when they worked together at a life crises centre. She must get chills thinking about that. There have been a few rewrites of her book, which is both an autobiography and a biography of Bundy. Latest one was 2008. Could be an interesting read. I actually taught a murderer once. He killed at least three people in a crime war. Wasn't the best of students, but really turned at about age 16, and became really violent. Died of multiple illnesses before he was 40, probably HIV.

Turns out that the prior year an armed robber was enrolled in the class. Turn up get his name back, and nick off hold up a local bank and come back.

Egotistical, arrogant, pompus but apparently when the time came he cried like a baby on the way to meet old sparky. Bob Martinez was governor of Florida then. When he was approached by police with Bundy's offer to trade the location of more victim's bodies for a stay of execution, he's alleged to have said "*screw* that. Kill him." You gotta love a guy like that.

The burn on his skull from the execution was gruesome. Yes they were, look like he might of got a bit extra wattage or something or a longer strike.. Ouch.! There were several electric chair executions in Florida in which a synthetic sponge was used in the headpiece. The sponge is soaked with supersaturated salt water to aid conduction on the charge into the condemned's body. The synethetic sponges tended to dry out and catch on fire. This may have been one such case. As to his feeling pain? No. The electric charge at high voltage and amperage blows out his nervous system before the nerves can transmit pain. He was gone in 1/240th of a second.

It might work out that way in most cases but you never know how the human body reacts. There are people who have survived hangings, people who have survived drops from incredible altitudes, people who have survived gunshot wounds penetrating their brain (sometimes I think the latter all work in the administration of my municipality)... Crazy, unlikely things can happen and if you're not knocked out instantly, it must be excruciating pain.

With the electric chair, you'll never know what you are gonna get. I don't think that people have a problem with it being torture for the condemned since most of the time, you become brain dead after the first jolt. I think it has more to do with how GRUESOME it looks to the witnesses. Tiny Davis was executed in Florida and he didn't feel any pain, but he got a massive nosebleed with dripped everywhere making the execution look more gruesome then it actually was. The opposite of injection: looks painless, but might not be. The chair: Is painless, looks horrid.
The worst method of execution has to be the gas chamber. Even if you do breathe in the gas voluntarily, it burns like hell.

I think that was from the pressure of the Mask on his nose, a little bit of blood & People are calling it a botched execution, The only execution that is botched in my books is if they get a stay

I don't know if its true or not since the film wasn't accurate about many things (Florida gives three volts not one lethal volt. I don't think there is any way to know. The Florida Department of Corrections keeps the names of the executioners a secret, and I think the names are specifically exempt from being revealed under appropriate state laws. I would have to check Florida statutes to make sure about that, but in nearly every state, the identity of all persons who are involved with carrying out an execution are kept secret. Mostly it's for their own protection, in that if they are prison employees, they could become "marked" people among the prison population. The only exception that I'm aware of was from back in the 1980s sometime. When Jimmy Lee Gray was executed in Mississippi's gas chamber, Mississippi's open government laws required that the name of the executioner be public information. This is how numerous media people revealed the executioner's name. It was discovered that at the Gray execution, T. Barry Bruce, the executioner was drunk.

There have been a few female executioners here. Bloody Babs was an Irish female executioner. Mind you she was a murderer herself (often in the 1800s hangmen/women were worse than the criminals they put to death.)

I hope if it was a women she came to him as he was being strapped to the gurney & whispered in his ear,,, "Don't worry, it's as painless as all the pain you gave to your victims".. With a great big smile .
