Well, when I was bearing arms, every practice shot (aimed at the middle of the chest) went, instead, where men would prefer death over being shot. I *think* it is my duty NOT to carry. Ask the rangemaster to help you adjust your sights, or sight picture. And practice, baby. 50 rounds downrange per week will perk you right up. Who loves ya, kid?

One question, please? How accurate or detailed has the word "arms" been defined? Are you allowed to carry automatic weapons? Bazookas, thermo-nuclear devices? Just asking. The above are "destructive devices" and are generally banned to individuals. An individual can own a fully automatic weapon if he or she obtains a federal tax stamp for it. They're $200 and not very common.

My god you morons confuse ur self's. I will kill any threat I deem Necessary. I will use a gun a bat a golf club.
Any one that is not ready will and able to do so, Should not have kids. Any one that says the state this or that Murders Has it wrong the state or government executes. That is not Murder nor is it Homicide. Now lets get this straight in Iraq ,and Afghanistan I did not kill or murder any living thing. I executed the order's give to me by The President. I will do the same when told to so again. I will lose zero sleep over it. You try and harm me I can and will use what ever force necessary to stop the threat. If that means taking some ones life, so be it. All you thug loving anti's need to remember You only hear what the scum tells you you never even think about the Victim. It all ways about the scum bag looser. That 99% of the time has all ready been in prison more then once. Now tell me why should I care if a 3 time or a 2 time looser lives or die's? People make mistakes but doing the same thing and crying about it is all your fault.

Godwin's Law AKA Reductio ad Hitlerum. Yes, I agree. I imagine it will be a millenium or so, though, before the stoppelhoppers manage to live down the rep of their most famous (or rather, infamous) citizen.

Exactly what many of the Nazis said at their trials. So how did your relatives fare there? They managed to escape to the US, because there spreading around fascist propaganda is not seen as a crime but as "freedom of speech". ;D

Yes, it is. It is part of our oath. I, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God. Courage, Honor and CommitmentThe US Navy Core Values...and while I am at it, I might as well bring out the "old code"The Code of Conduct
I I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.
II I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.
III If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.
IV If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them up in every way.
V When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.
VI I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

And in Honor of my buddys Still Fighting...
I serve my country, my Navy and my team with honor and integrity. I am responsible for my actions and accountable to my teammates both on and off the water. I lead by example; I am the guardian of the standard. I maintain my craft, my equipment and myself, to the highest state of readiness.
In our nation's time of need, an elite brotherhood of Sailors stands ready off distant shores and on shallow rivers. Defending freedom, they serve with honor and distinction. I am proud to be one of these Sailors.
I am a Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman: a quiet professional; tried, tested and dedicated to achieving excellence in maritime special operations. I am a disciplined, confident and highly motivated warrior.
My honor and integrity are beyond reproach, my commitment unquestioned and my word trusted. The American people depend on me to carry out my mission in a professional manner.
I maintain my craft, equipment and myself at the highest level of combat readiness. I set the standard and lead by example. I am responsible for my actions and accountable to my teammates. I challenge my brothers to perform, as I expect them to challenge me.
I am ready for war. I will close and engage the enemy with the full combat power of my craft. My actions will be decisive yet measured. I will always complete the mission. I will never quit and I will leave no one behind.
My heritage comes from the Sailors who operated the PT boats of World War II and the combatant craft of Vietnam. The legacy of these warriors guides my actions. I will always remember the courage, perseverance and sacrifices made to guarantee our nation's freedom. I uphold the honor of those who have fought before me and will do nothing to disgrace my proud heritage.
On Time, On Target, Never Quit!
To those nae Sayer's... You will never get it nor, will you ever understand.

That is why the oath was changed from swear to affirm and the individual can leave that part out. The code I provided is from the Eisenhower period. It has been modified as well. I prefer the version with God in it.
The key is pledging an oath to an ideal - The Constitution of the United States of America.
